Very recently I got a chance to head up to my old stomping gounds of Gallia County, Ohio to speak to the 7th and 8th graders at the new and improved South Gallia Middle and High School, located in the Crown City and Mercerville, Ohio area. We talked all about weather maps and the TV. weather business!
I actually attended South Gallia High School as a freshman before moving to Gallia Academy in Gallipolis, Ohio. It's always fun to go home and visit my former teachers!
Below are a couple group photos of us.

I must say they already knew a lot about weather! Mr. Jason Dillon, the science teacher at S.G.M.S. has done a fantastic job teaching and getting them ready for an important state test coming up. One of the subjects on this test has to do with weather, weather maps and forecasting.
Most of what we went over was how to read a weather map and the weather map symbols.
Here's what you mostly see on a weather map and what the many different symbols mean on a weather chart:
I want to thank Mr. Dillon for inviting me and keep up the great work in Gallia County!
