The candidates in Kentucky's gubernatorial race will debate tonight for the first time.

Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear (D) will debate his two challengers tonight at Eastern Kentucky University.

Beshear has agreed to two debates with David Williams (R) and Gatewood Galbraith (I). Beshear has a commanding lead in the polls over his challengers.

According to Public Policy Polling, in late August Beshear led Williams 55-28. Galbraith was supported by 10 percent of likely voters.

The second debate will be Oct. 31 at the Kentucky Educational Television studio in Lexington.
