Public Policy Polling released a report Wednesday showing Ohio voters will likely reject the controversial Senate Bill 5 by a 56-36 margin on Election Day.
The polling firm found independents are split on Issue 2, while Republicans still support it for the most part.
NBC stations across Ohio are coming together to air a debate on Senate Bill 5/Issue 2 next Tuesday.
UPDATE: WSAZ will carry the debate on our MyZ channel.
Anchors and reporters from three stations will moderate the debate between Building a Better Ohio (which will defend Issue 2) and We Are Ohio (which opposes Issue 2).
A yes vote on Issue 2 means a voter supports SB5.
The controversial bill was passed during this year's legislative session and affects collective bargaining rights for state workers, among other things. Supporters say it's a practical measure to help the state's financial woes. Opponents say it's damaging to public workers' rights.
State Senator Keith Faber will speak on behalf of Building a Better Ohio. Debating him will be former Ohio Congressman Dennis Eckart of We Are Ohio, according to WDTN.
The debate will air from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct 25.
According to WDTN, "NBC News Political Director Chuck Todd will moderate the debate. Serving as panelists from the Ohio NBC affiliated stations are: WCMH Anchor Colleen Marshall, WKYC Senior Political Reporter Tom Beres, and Anchor/Reporter Sheree Paolello from WLWT."
