New numbers released Friday show Gov. Tomblin is maintaining his fund raising lead.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin (D) continues to raise more money than his opponent Bill Maloney (R), as Maloney continues to loan money to his campaign.

The West Virginia Secretary of State's Office released new figures Friday covering the period of Aug. 26 to Sep. 23.

Tomblin raised more than $560,000. Energy companies accounted for about 20 percent of Tomblin's donations. Maloney raised about $127,000. About 20 percent of Maloney's money came from out-of-state donors in Michigan and Georgia. Tomblin also held an out-of-state fund raiser in Kentucky, bringing in more than $30,000, the Associated Press reports.

Maloney also loaned his campaign an additional $400,000. That brings the amount he's given his campaign to about $1.8 million.

The Associated Press has more details on the latest fund raising data.
