Good Sunday morning to one and all!
We had to put up with some nagging afternoon showers for several different days last week, but it was all worth it when the sun shines masterfully on the weekend.
Sunday will be another great day, though the humidity is rising. The best news is that because things look like they're happening a little more quickly, we might be able to stay under the 90-degree mark this afternoon. Highs reached 87 in Charleston and Huntington yesterday, and the trend was to put us at 90 today but we'll just have to see about all that. Still, it's an important note to keep up with the sunscreen and the hydration (especially all you golfers out there!)
Getting on with the start of next week, it now appears that showers are coming in earlier in the day. Here's how it looks with the NAM:

Showers (and thunder) move in from west to east Monday morning, and then an approaching cold front sweeps everything through and out by Tuesday evening.

All the heavy stuff doesn't mount up until it crosses the Appalachians, but still 0.5"- 0.75" will be greeted with open arms by all the lawns and gardens out there.
Looking ahead to next week, the days following these showers will still be on the delightfully cool side-- perhaps even just a touch below normal. To emphasize the change, here's a map that shows how the temperatures will be compared to the same time-frame a day earlier:

More cool breezes to enjoy for a couple of days during the mid-week... before more summertime warmth returns again.
