Update (8/8) - Just an update to yesterday's blog post because we're in the same pattern started then. This morning is expected to feature some locally dense fog yet again. You can track it on the maps here:
|GOES-13 Fog Product (Experimental)||GOES-13 Fog Depth Estimate|
Expect a sunny one with highs approaching 90, and exceeding it in some spots. We'll be watching the prospects for isolated storms to pop up in our far western zones later today, but figure on this being more likely during the afternoon tomorrow.
It's Tuesday ... Time to dry out!
The clearing skies from I-64 and points north yesterday was just a beginning. Today figures to be even better, with broader sunshine with the help of high pressure to the north:

For those in the south-lands and the mountains, unfortunately it won't be a full clear-out. Not only will you be dealing with fog in the morning, but the stubborn clouds will hang up with the stalled-out front in the afternoon. I wouldn't worry about flooding rains like yesterday, but it's certainly understandable if y'all got a little jealous about everyone else drying out a little better.
High pressure will take through Wednesday to traverse the area, so we'll get a couple days of the nice weather. Temperatures will start to creep up though, so welcome back that 90-degree heat before it rains again later Thursday into Friday.
|GFS - Thursday Late||GFS - Friday PM
We'll have to keep an eye on things then to see if we're going to get more problems from this one.
