Monday Monday... So good to me...
After a couple mornings in the ice box, the afternoons felt pleasant enough out there. Hopefully you were able to get out and enjoy it. The start of the week will keep the streak going, as a powerful area of high pressure continues to dictate skies for the tri-state.

1045mb is one of the stronger highs we've seen this year (and last, frankly). Despite it being located in the Canadian Maritimes, it's still capable of keeping the skies dry overhead. Each morning temperatures will be "refreshing" (cool), with each afternoon sneaking up in warmth. That frontal system to our west has its sights set on a Wednesday arrival time.

It's going to be another day of changes, but the threat of severe weather is again minimal (just like last week). As is often the case, it'll be more active in places where the front crosses after midday (such as the Mid-Atlantic states).
We don't have the same contrast of temperatures either, which is another reason why the energy will be lower. Still, expect another warm bump Tuesday with a notably colder one Thursday:

It's not as dramatic of a rise/drop as we saw last week, but consider the high on Wednesday as something achieved in the early part of the day with temperatures going straight down to the upper 30s by Thursday morning. The cold pool of air from this system will linger into the weekend.

The end of the month and start of May gets warmer and wetter according to the models. That lawn will just keep on growing!
