The dry skies slowly fade

Welcoming back a risk of showers today, but temperatures continue to warm.

A good Memorial Day to one and all.

Before I get into the forecast, I want to first let out a heart-felt "Thank You" to those who have served in our armed forces. I often go by the Memorial Arch on my way to and fro, and it is quite an amazing thing to consider how life may well have been differend today if it weren't for the bravery of so many and their tireless supporters at home.

When you are all celebrating and festivating today, please remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, and make it a point to thank a soldier-- the first few you see perhaps.

Today's weather finally returns some showers into the picture, but we'll get whatever happens to roll off the bow of an approaching front.

This may make the Ironton Memorial Day parade a little wet, so be prepared if you're heading out there (and always leave early, even more-so with that bridge closed). Today's rain is mostly going to be a problem for folks living along and north of the Ohio River, as that's also where the warm front is lifting through. The good news is that as it lifts we can get our warmer mornings back. If you've stepped out early the past few days-- brr.

Tuesday features a little more in the way of widespread showers, but things do not appear to get out of hand:

Not the greatest pool day for sure, but better / warmer days are still not all that far away. If you check out the 7-day below, temperatures soar through the 80s while others get the bulk of the rain. Since it may well be the first unofficial week of summer, I'm not going to complain about that. For those of us who still work for a living, lets just hope we don't get showers on the weekend.
