Turning the corner... Get ready for the weekend!

A little more sunshine and a little warmer temperatures. Yes, a rogue shower may still hit the northern and eastern regions, but the signal is certain-- we're getting out of this weather pattern and into another one that I'm sure y'all will like more...

Welcome to your 'turning the corner' Thursday!

We are finally 'comin up around the bend' on this weather, and the sunshine is staring us square in the future. Indeed, even today more of us will get to be in the club that samples the Sun instead of those pesky showers. Here's what the NAM has to say about the upcoming impulse of energy we'll have to deal with today:

NAM - Thursday 11am NAM - Thursday 5pm NAM - Thursday 11pm

Just like the days before it, our first-half shot at sunshine will be disrupted by some scattered clouds by lunchtime. The difference is that this time around we'll see the afternoon pop-ups lose a little steam just outside our area. The north and eastern counties figure to be targeted, but even then it will only be a brief smattering. By sunset, the clouds will again part and we should be able to hit the ground running for Friday.

High pressure builds in and sticks around just in time for when we need it. HPC has a good handle of what goes on:

HPC - Saturday HPC - Sunday

Warm air rotates around the back side of a minor but 'good enough' area of high pressure. This fetch will keep the temperatures building upon the previous days' work, putting us in range of 90-degrees by Sunday afternoon. Summer is coming back to June :-)

And, almost as if negotiated directly with Nature, we're going to hold onto the dry weather until Monday-- but then the Monday-Tuesday picture looks a lot more umbrella-worthy:

GFS - Tuesday PM

But we have plenty of time before we worry about this one. Until then, how about thinking sunglassses (and sunscreen) :-)
