Good Sunday gang and welcome to the 11th month of the year. Halloween is now behind us and it is full steam ahead toward Thanksgiving and Christmas. Of course, there is this little thing called winter that will soon grab our attention.

This first day of November looks chilly but good. Temps will be in the low and mid 30s to start with a partly sunny sky boosting readings into the low 50s.

Monday will find us ahead of a weak cold front that swings through early Tuesday. This will cause some clouds to increase and there is a small threat for a shower. It should be a breezy day with temps in the upper 40s and low 50s.

Here is what the GFS looks like for Tuesday afternoon...

You can see the mean trough allowing for chilly air for much of the eastern half of the country and you can see some embedded impulses within the flow...

This means most of next week will be seasonably chilly with a couple of systems diving in here from the northwest. Timing these will be difficult until we get within a couple days of each. Ahead of these weak systems... temps will be in the low and mid 50s for highs and upper 40s right after they swing through.

Looking farther down the road... the GFS has been going hog wild on the first taste of arctic air coming south into the central and eastern part of the country toward the Nov 10-15 period. There is an awful lot of well below normal temps building up in Canada just waiting for a chance to pay us a visit. When it does look out. Here is what the latest GFS shows...

I will have my thoughts on November later today or tonight so make sure you check back. Have a great Sunday and take care.
