Good Thursday folks! We are inching closer and closer to the first weekend for the month of November. We have been advertising some Indian Summer weather coming our way and it will arrive just in time for the weekend. Those who aren't into warm weather in November shouldn't fret as it's stay around here doesn't look to last long.

The chill this week as been as advertised and even brought some areas their first taste of wintry weather. Sleet was reported in many areas early Thursday as a disturbance crossed the region. The Wext Virginia mountains picked up a coating of snow in some spots.

The breakdown goes like this...

- Today will see a mix of sun and clouds with breezy conditions. There is a shot at a stray shower in some spots. Temps will range from the upper 40s to low 50s.

- Winds should begin to switch around on Friday and warm our temps up toward the mid 50s for highs. This will come after a cold start in the 20s.

- The weekend looks AWESOME! Highs will be well into the 60s for Saturday and flirt with 70 for Sunday. Sunshine will rule!

- The changes come early in the week as a clouds increase from the southwest as moisture begins to stream our way out of the Gulf. This will interact with a front across the plains to bring showers in here Monday night into Tuesday. The models are going to struggle with this interaction because of the tropical influence from Ida. Speaking of here is a look at our rare November storm...

There should be a fair amount of deep moisture already in the Gulf before the storm gets there. You can see this setup with the latest run of the GFS for Tuesday...

Again... I am just using that to show the setup as we will have to wait a few days to see exactly how everything works out. This COULD be a decent rain producer around here for the middle of next week.

Looking much farther down the road. The signs continue to really show up that our pattern will take on a fairly wintry look in the week before Thanksgiving. I have shown some images over the past few days showing this and that trend continues...

GFS November 18th

That's all I have for now. Have a great Thursday and check back for updates. Take care.
