By the way Chris, I am glad that you are putting down the hammer on the haters that have been posting here. I guess they don't realize that no matter what name they may use they still have the same IP address! Good on ya! This is a such a great blog to let a few bad apples spoil it for everyone who loves watching the weather! Posted by: Anonymous starting snowing here in Louisa Ky around midnight, coming down pretty good. Posted by: Justin 33 degrees and raining.. it is 1:00 am.. so rain it is even from the start.. shoot! Posted by: casey Thank you for your hard work..Bring on the snow.:) Posted by: Maddie 12:52 here in Garrison. Am set for the night in watch of that first flake! Man, I need a job!!!! Safe wishes for all those that must travel whether its just cold, rain, snow or ice.. Be Safe! Posted by: Becky Thank you Chris for all your wether details. Being the Mother of a special needs child, your forecast helps parents like myself in getting our kids ready for school, having to cancel doctor's appointmnets or after school thearpy sessions due to the bad weather. It means alot to us and from the bottom of our hearts thank you for all you do! Posted by: Cold Just wondering Chris, is it harder to predict (forcast) winter weather such as snow, than say weather in Florida? Because they can almost tell you when it will start to thunder/lightening and get it correct?? A little confused!!! Posted by: Eric Hey Chris. Nice job on the weather. I used to watch you on WKYT in Lexington and enjoyed your reports then. I especially appreciate the new life you have breathed into WSAZ weather. I especially like the thoughtfulness of your reports, regular updates, and extra scientific information you include on your blog too. Keep up the great work. We certainly appreciate it!! Posted by: cookie dough how much will the coalfields get this time? Posted by: Tiny Never read your blog before, but this is awesome great job, can you tell us a little more about Logan area, this is great reading all of this,Once again thanks Chris keep up the good work Posted by: ChrisBailey's#1Fan So far so good, Chris! The freeze line is right where you called it with the hook will be around Huntington, with everything northward being mostly snow. This storm owes the river cities some decent snowfall. If we get less than 3 inches or all rain, I am going to need an antidepressant. Posted by: Tyler Hi, From Rio Grande, Ohio (GALLIA) It's currently cloudy and temps are dropping. No Snow as of yet. Posted by: Randy Hopefully, Shawnee State University in Portsmouth will cancel classes tommorow! Posted by: Pam To all the arrogant people that never have anything nice to say....stop blogging, and I hope you dont even get a dusting of snow the rest of the winter!!!!!!! LOL (I'm really not a mean person:) Great Job Chris Bailey, absolutely adore your blog!! Posted by: Greg If you are a snow lover in the Kanawha Valley our couple inches we end up with by Thursday morning will pale in comparison to what will fall to the west of us and to the east of us. Really has not been our year hear in the Kanawha Valley. Plenty of cold will follow after our rainstorm on Tuesday. We may get a sloppy inch in the morning, but it is amazing how difficult it has been this year to get more than 2 or 3 inches at one time when so much snow is falling all around us. Will have to hope that some snowshowers will cover the ground. Posted by: Syrinx Assuming this means Meigs County schools are gonna be closed =D Posted by: Becky in Lucasville Hey Chris, love to read your blog. It is very interesting to see your insight on the storms that are coming into our region. Always look forward to yours and Tony's forecast!! Keep up the great job and please stay with WSAZ. In closing, it is 2240, 28 degrees here and no snow. I know that we will not dodge this storm like we did the other day! Posted by: Shelly To: 4cast In response to "Hurricane-Charleston: This is what ALWAYS happens. For some reason there is always a bubble of warmer air around us." This would be due to the chemical plants that surround us in chemical valley...they make a bubble of death Posted by: wendell coffey I love the snow from a certain point of view, but God only knows as a vol. firefighter it makes things a little harder when it snows alot. It is 10:10 p.m. and still nothing yet here in Greenup, but we are patiently waitng, I mean the Kids and I. So bring it on, let it snow!!! As for Chris and Tony I hope you guys can redeem yourselves on this one, just kidding, keep up the good work. Posted by: Kim Chris, I keep reading comments asking you not to leave this area...is that something you have been considering? I know there are probably lots of better paying weather jobs out there for you, but you won't ever come across any people that love you any more than we do!!! If you are considering relocating, (which no one wants you to do) I'm sure all of your viewers would say "Go with God's blessing". But if you're not, then your viewers are saying "Thank You, God"! lol...thanks for all the hard work you have put into this blog. We really appriciate your family being so understanding as well! Posted by: marie In looking at the radar, can someone explain exactly how the blue even a small portion of darker blue is over our area but now snow. Posted by: brooke Chris you do an awesome job!!! Its great you are part of wsaz. Posted by: emily I love your blog!!! We look at it sometimes in Anatomy so we know what is going to happen during the week Posted by: Hope Chris I for one hope you are being conservative on your snow fall totals. I would love to see a really big snow here since I missed the ones in the 70s. Your blog is a part of my daily routine and if you are predicting interesting weather (especially in the fall and winter) I obsessively check in throughout the day. You and Tony Cavalier - keep it up. Posted by: BSE Keep up the great work Chris !! Hopefully this turns into a winter wallope for us that did not get much this last time around !! Posted by: Chad I have one question. How can surrounding counties have a "Warning", but a county smack dab in the middle of those counties surrounded by them only has an "Advisory"? Something does not add up. Posted by: AJ I don't like being stuck and not able to get to town but, I love the kids home from school! Posted by: Cade No precipitation in ashland yet. Its 8:09. The thing is over us but it isnt coming down. Posted by: 4Cast Brent & Greg: Thank you for your responses. I've heard different theories, but that makes perfect sense. I figured it had to do with being close to the mountains. Really wish we could see those storms of 93 and 96 again. Bring on the cold air! Posted by: lovingsnow Hey Chris, I just want to say that I have just recently heard of you. I usually dont keep up with the weather, I kinda just go with the flow. Haha But here lately I heard about your blogs, and thought heck why not? So now, I read them everyday, and when I get to work, they call me the meteorologist. Haha...I feel that you inform me so well, that I know it all. Thanks for the hard work you do! Posted by: snowmaker never seen so much uncertainty, huntington has storm warning with a high of 40 tomorrow yet charleston has advisory with a high of 38, who should get more accumulation...charleston right, but they have a advisory...doesn;t make sense Posted by: jeff Hey Chris, I am a fourth grade teacher in Point Pleasant and I readyour blogs daily. I like the scientific aspect you take towards forecasting. I also understand that meteorology is an inexact science . Keep up the good work and if you're ever in Point Pleasant, stop by the Intermediate School and say howdy. My kids would love to meet you (as would I).. Peace Out Posted by: Brent To: (4cast) I believe it may be result of what some call "the appy-wedge" when storms move in from the south and west warm air, as usual, moves ahead of a storm. Being on the near west side of the Appalachian mountains, the warm air rushes along the slopes, somewhat in the way that a wave of water would race along a wall ahead of the main wave. Regardless,as these storms move in the warm air banks up against the mountains, whereas areas west farther from the mountains maintain cooler temperatures in all layers of the atmosphere. I've heard tony cavalier mention this scenerio before. Posted by: Abby Hi Cris we track the weather every day at school, and or teacher mrs.Ketchum wants you to com to or school and talk about the weather. Posted by: toney hi 1 more time from the town of wayne. why did my 3:15pm blog not get posted? i guess i bragged on wsaz too quick last week about my blogs getting posted more frequently because there for a while they were not getting posted then about 2 weeks ago they started getting posted with more frequency and accuracy. but over the weekend one of mine did not get posted and the one today did not get posted. currently it is 7:00pm and cloudy and in the upper 20s. my prediction is for 2 inches of snow tonight for the town of wayne, then anothe 2 inches in the morning before a change over to either freezing rain or plain rain then a quick change over tues. night and a rapid drop in temps of maybe 15 to 20 degrees in about 2 hours followed by intense snow showers through the day on wed. and wed. night which will drop another 6 inches for a total of 6 to 10 inches. dangerous wind chills of below zero for wednesday. i am chris amature weather man, do not blame me. ha! ha!! ha!!! thanks and god bless. Posted by: Lisa Chris ... we at GHS read your blog daily ... keep up the good work. We appreciate all you do. We try to predict school closings and stuff after reading your blog. Don't let negative people get you down, some people have apparentley nothing better to do. Posted by: Greg For those wondering about why Putnam and Kanawha do not have a Winter Storm Warnings it is beacuse 99% of the time a low goes to our WEST it brings in warmer air. Charleston is located in a area that is impacted by downsloping winds which ride down the mountains which are located to our SOUTHEAST, SOUTH and SOUTHWEST. As air descends from a mountain the downslope impact is that the air warms (several degrees for each 1,000 feet or so). Anytime winds come from that direction it makes it very difficult to remain snow unless the cold air is deep enough. I think Huntington is going to be in the same boat that Charleston is....more rain than snow this time. We need to get rid of the lows that come up to our west as that kills our snow chances in the lowlands of WV. Posted by: Jozee Yahhhh!! I love the snow and the closings!!! Posted by: Michele I love your blog...I just hope we get slammed with bunches of snow... Posted by: marie I do not thick slush is getting the kids out of school. Sorry kids. Posted by: Stephanie Chris, thank you so much for all your hard work. I am a Chris blog addict and have made my husband an addict too! So many of us appreciate your hardwork and predictions.Keep up the good work. Posted by: Buckeye This storm is presenting a different scenerio than Friday's storm here in North Central Ohio. Friday's snow was heavy and wet, now looking at a 10 degree difference for Tuesday/Wednesday. Light snow and a 25 mph wind, even seeing some mention of "near blizzard or blizzard conditions" late Tuesday early Wednesday. Me thinks its gonna get ugly up in Buckeye Land. Posted by: 4Cast Hurricane-Charleston: This is what ALWAYS happens. For some reason there is always a bubble of warmer air around us. Just look at the map of warnings around the few counties. I've asked this question to several meteorologists of why the warm air always gets to here and stops and none of them could answer it. It seriously boggles my mind everytime. I am excited about the colder weather though! Posted by: Momof4 You make these storm events seem like Christmas eve!!..ooooh the anticipation, it's SO exciting!!!lol Thanks for the hard work Chris and I say stop posting the negative comments. They just want attention anyway, plus it's probably just kids mad because they didn't get out of school.haha Posted by: Storm Chris, I really like your blog. I don't appreciate those people who are trying to ruin it for everyone else. What is this grade school? Keep up the good work it is appreciated by most!! Posted by: Debbie My second graders at Genoa are getting very good at reading your maps and graphs. They get just "a little" excited when they see snow! lol Posted by: mary Let it snow!! I appreciate everything you do to keep us informed. Posted by: Angie I don't understand if people don't like the blog then why do they waste their time and ours for the matter. Chris, I really appreciate all of your hard work. You don't have to stay awake and post a blog at 2 30 in the morning. You do it because you care and you can tell that you enjoy your job. We love reading your blog at work, I have them all hooked now. I would read the blog and now every morning we all stand around the computer and read the blog. We are addicts. Not to mention your forecasts are right on the money. Snow totals are never written in stone and you always tell us its just an estimate. I guess all the haters just can't handle a local guy knows more than the NWS. They ususally get on board with your forecasts after 2 or 3 days. I just really appreciate everything that you do and look forward to always being kept up to date by your blog. PLEASE don't leave our area, we would never be the same without you and your blog. God Bless you and your family. You're awesome!!!!!! Posted by: Anonymous i live 2 miles east of cabell county in lincoln county and they have a winter storm warning and we just have a advisory..... werid but bad enough.... i guess Posted by: Anonymous I just don't understand why people leave negative comments. If you don't like something simply don't read it. Chris works very hard on this blog & it's appreciated by many! Can't wait for the snow Chris & thank you for all your hard work! Posted by: Jenny Love your blog, I get more info from it than the actual weather report! Posted by: Elkview I agree w/ what many of you have said. If you don't enjoy this blog--please don't ruin it by making neg. comments. Perhaps you misunderstood--to us this is merely an extension of the forecast. Additional time given to explain what could or is happening. We do not see it as a forum for negative comments. Let Chris report the weather as HE sees it. Posted by: Pam Which is worse an advisory or alert? Posted by: JBR c'mon!! I live in Hurricane in Putnam County (Winter weather advisory) and a mile to my west there is a winter storm warning! Posted by: Rob Even though we are five hours East of Hunitngton on I-64 I have got to say that the models you present are on the money. The farmeres Alm. said we would receive 103 inches of snow this season. It seems, though mother nature is responsible, your models have been the most accurate tool we have for scheduling. We can't thank you enough. Keep up the execellent coverage and your informative breakdowns and for those who like to stir up trouble, "you deserve all you get in life" Thanks Chris Posted by: Sarah Hey there. I was wondering what is going to be expected for Grayson and will this storm be worse than the one a few days ago? Posted by: Randy Chris thanks for calling out those ill informed . You sir are a "steely eyed missleman", when it comes to weather. Thanks to you and all of those hard working Wsaz forcasters. Posted by: Tara Just started reading your blog a month ago. Just wanted to say thank you and love the way you stand up to the haters, and that is all they are. I will be here in Cross Lanes... wishing for the snow. I agree with the others... we get left out of the snow for the most part. Hope it is our turn this time. Posted by: Student from Cabell County What about a school closing for Tuesday? Posted by: MamaOfTwo I just want to say thank you Chris for taking the time to update your blog!! All the silly haters have nothing better to do than act like children. You do a GREAT job, keep it up!! Posted by: BSE Bring on the snow Chris !! Posted by: Joe LOL. Chris... Don't worry about the haters. Posted by: Anonymous Why are areas in WV, such as Putnam and Kanawha Counties just under a Winter Weather Advisory, when bordering counties like Cabell are under a Winter Storm Warning? Posted by: resident it's sad how central tri state areas hardly gets in on the fun. Last weekend, it was kentucky through North Carolina. This weekend, it was Ohio - D.C. I'm not blaming you at all, Chris, I love seeing all this stuff happening on the blog. it's just me venting to mother nature for us to please get some snow around the cabell/wayne counties/central tri state area, ha. sigh. crossing my fingers with this one, though. :) Posted by: James Dakota Noble I hope this snow stor dumps a little more than a couple of inches in my area like all snow storms do. Posted by: Gene Chris, I too live in Central Ky. (Winchester) and follow your blog and rely on your maps. They be cool. Miss you on WKYT, but T.G. and Todd do a good job, but do not have the maps that you do, which are fun to follow....Your maps are usually right on.... Posted by: Floyd County Ky I think you do a great job Chris. I read your blog first thing every morning...and throughout the day in bad weather situations. You have done an excellent job with the forecasts this winter. Keep up the good work!! Posted by: Samantha could the storm this week be worse than in December?? Posted by: Anna Chris, love the frequent updates on your blog. Keep up the good work! BTW, my 2 year old daughter never missed a home Marshall football game this past season and everytime she sees your pic at the top of the blog, she yells 'GO HERD!' Posted by: angel When i read your side note and then all the bloggers comments you'd think there had been a conspiracy. Chris, why would anybody be jealous of a TV weather reporter? Are you being a little sensitive? Keep up your work, don't stop now after 6 years. You enjoy your job so much and you're the only one good at it. Peace,Love and SNOW Posted by: ROBIN Meigs County Ohio is now under a winter storm warning starting at 5am Tuesday through 7pm Wednesday! BRING IT ON!!!!! SEE YA Posted by: teacher I check your blog very often. Was just in a teacher's meeting and while the principal was talking, we were hiding behind the computers checking your blog to see if we were going to be lucky enough to sleep in tomorrow. We all understand that we just have to make these days up in the summer, but we love staying in when it is so cold. Thanks for keeping us all updated! Posted by: ski-man Chris--You are one of the few weathermen I can stomach watching...you get right to the point and don't overwhelm us with technicalities or baffle us with showy nothingness...thanks for a great blog!!! Posted by: Withrow Chris... I don't get to watch you since you left Lexington. I live in Metro Lex. I still choose your blog for my forecast.... even though It's many miles from Andover Hills! Posted by: Kirk Chris: Thanks for posting all this additional information and insight. I thoroughly enjoy your predictions based upon the science and due dilligence you help to let the public privy to. Keep up the good work. Posted by: snowbunny2 To snowbunny: LOL...sorry, I guess I did steal your ID. I added a "2" to mine, that might make it easier. Sorry...it is a great name though! :) Posted by: Sarah Hey Chris! Posted by: Steve Hello Chris, I too enjoy reading your blogs. I also hate snow. I hate ice more though. I hope this storm is just snow. Evry time we get ice, we lose power for a week. Keep up the good work. Posted by: Angie (Ashland) Thanks so much Chris for the great blog. Glad you finally addressed all the negative comments...tell them to take a hike!! :) Posted by: Anonymous Okay, Mr. or Mrs. "Last Time", who do you think you are? The models are not always correct, and we all know that. But these guys at WSAZ and all of the other newschannels do a wonderful job of keeping us alert and in tune with the POSSIBILITY of this happening. Don't hurt the messenger, and he is a very good messenger at that ;) Posted by: james hey chris dont sweat the haters they are jealous becaus there not like you i think you do a very hard job very well i sure wouldnt want you headache take care and have a great day Posted by: Michelle Hi Chris...and thanks for what you do. Just keep doing it because your actions say more than words could ever! I think you do a GREAT job and I always check here before I plan any traveling or outdoor plans. Thanks so much for your hard work it is appreciated here at least! Posted by: marie It is neither wrong to like or dislike snow. Those that love snow likes to go back to childhood days or frankly would like a few more snow days. Those that doesnt probably are not indoor people or have things to get done. There are no haters just good debaters. Posted by: Toni I just recently started reading your blog and love love love all the frequent updates. Keep it up! Posted by: pj Thank you Kenny for your post, I may be able to understand the maps a little better now lol Posted by: ChrisBailey's#1Fan Chris, I will be up all night for this one. I have to give you credit; everything coming at us is a real curve ball to forecast with these borderline temps. We will be anxiously awaiting your updates. You have our support and appreciation. Posted by: Deanna Check your blog several times a day. Seems to be the only place I can find the information that I need (i.e. how much, when and where). You do a great job and thanks so much. Posted by: Di Just want to say you do a really good job & don't let the trouble makers get to you. If memory serves you predicted 6 to 10 inches for our area on the last storm & we got 6 inches. Keep up the good job! Posted by: Jamie I HAVE BEEN CHECKING YOUR BLOG FOR THE PAST YEAR. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE COMMENTED BUT LIKE YOU I TOO AM TIRED OF THE BAD/MEAN COMMENTS LEFT BY A SELECTED FEW BLOGGERS. YOU DO THIS TO ADVISE PEOPLE OF WHAT COULD BE AND MORE THAN NOT YOU ARE ON THE NOSE. I ENJOY READING IT DAILY, MOST DAYS MORE THAN ONCE, TO THE PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT HAVE NEGATIVE FEED BACK, EITHER DON'T CHECK THIS BLOG OUR KEEP YOUR THOUGHTS TO YOURSELF, SOMETHING KEEPS BRINGING YOU BACK, COULD IT POSSIBLY BE THAT HE DOES A GREAT JOB?? BECAUSE HE DOESN'T HAVE TO TRY TO HELP ALL OF US UNDERSTAND A LITTLE BETTER ABOUT THE WEATHER, HE IS NOT GOD AND HE CAN'T CONTROL THE WEATHER, BUT AS I SAID EARLIER HE DOES GET IT RIGHT MAJORITY OF THE TIME. SO CHRIS, PLEASE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE VERY GREATFUL OF WHAT YOU DO FOR US, SO THANKS :) HAVE A GODD DAY AND TAKE CARE!! Posted by: Andrea I never comment on your blog, but I check it almost everyday. Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to keep us informed. Your hard work and consistant dedication to this blog is greatly admired; so sorry to hear others do not appreciate the effort. Once again, THANK YOU! =c) Posted by: Sherry Thank you for all your hard work I love your blog and read it daily. Posted by: Margaret First time looking at your blog. I found it very interesting. Posted by: Paul Come on Chris, How about getting us some serious snow? I don't know (you probably do) when the last real BLIZZARD hit the Tri-State. I'm a big boy now so it takes a lot of snow for me to sled! Posted by: Greg Looks like this could be worse than the weekend storm? Posted by: Anonymous Good Afternoon everyone from Huntington. Chris I am really glad you are as sick of the comments as alot of us are. It is very irritating to read people busting the observations you provide us with. We,well the adults anyway, realize the weather can change on a dime, but it helps to kinda know what to expect. Expescially those of us who have to go to diff counties for a work issue. Thanks sincerely. I am glad you will be stopping the bad bloggers. All I really care to see are the comments of others weather, not the kids begging, where are the parents? Some seem to be hinting to get personal with you, or just making rude comments to others. I am glad u noticed also. I come online to read your blog to see what to expect weather wise, not to see who is stirring trouble. Plus I am really interested in other peoples take on the weather, where they live and how much snow they get. So, again. Thanks. Posted by: kristi I appreciate all your early and late hours, glad to hear that you were being up front about those who want to just spread trouble. Love your blog! Posted by: Brian I still want to see double digit snowfalls in B'ville! Posted by: jeff chris you rock. i now read your blog everyday. I just hope we can dekkp you here and you not move on to a bigger market for more money. I really appreciate your hard work Posted by: JJ Get'em Chris!! My co-workers and I check your blog constantly. We look forward to your afternoon updates. Take care and keep up the GREAT work!! Shame on those that have nothing else better to do than make negative comments. Sounds like some other people that I have encountered on the WSAZ site in a story that took place at the beginning of the school year. Posted by: Lisa awesome video!! Posted by: Heather Hi Chris...I just wanted to say I really enjoy your blogs and check them often throughout the day. You do an outstanding job! You are right about the jealousy thing...I only feel sorry for them and their ignorance. Keep up the good work!! Posted by: Kyle Chris why not make it to where we have to make our own profile to post here? Forget the haters, every one with common sense knows its pretty darn hard to forecast snow totals. Posted by: Elkview Thank you, Chris! Posted by: Kenny TO FRED H re540 line... When you look at Chris' charts you'll see a blue line with a 0(zero) in it. This line basically shows where the temp will be 0c(zero)or 32f. Above this line will be temps will be 32f or below and below the line temps will be 32f or above. On other charts this line is represented as 540 or 5400 instead of 0(zero). This is how I understand it from my own research. I am not a weatherman or forecaster, just an interested person. Posted by: Debbie I keep logging in and saying snow snow go away, is that OK or do I have to be a snow lover to post? Have I mentioned I hate snow? Posted by: Don Keep up the good job Chris. I hope I can keep your blog going. Cause till now I just went on what people said or old folks sayings. Posted by: Patsy Well stated Chris! This blog is usually so much fun, but recently it has been full of so much mud-slinging that I am almost afraid to post anything. Just know that there are those who do appreciate the many many hours you dedicate to keeping us informed. Looking forward to lots of snow this week in Scioto County! Keep up the great work! Posted by: rebecca the last one missed us i hope this one dosent thanks for keeping us informed my family thinks im weired because i like winter but im o k with that Posted by: mary Hey are we getting any amount of snow, please let us know Posted by: DC Chris, Do you think the 850 mb temps stay cold enough across N WV to remain snow? WC is calling for a mix in Brideport, WV. Does the second part of the storm hit N WV pretty hard? Posted by: Dwight Hi Chris. I want to say thanks and I really appreciate the way you and Tony bring the weather to a more understandable level. I will also like to compliment everyones job at channel 3 with the weather. I will say out of all the other stations. the weather channel included, You are the most accurate that I have ever seen. Keep up the great work and thanks for keeping us informed of the pending storms. Posted by: pj Thumbs Up to you Chris....we don't want or need those people here! Just a few can ruin it for all and since this is a family friendly blog and lots and lots of school age children love you, those comments are just NOT wanted here! Also PLEASE PLEASE if you are posting your weather conditions during the upcoming weather event BE SURE to include your location (town, county or something)in your post....those of us reading the comments have NO IDEA where you are located...WOW just posted a WSW for "us", would really have appreciated knowing where "us" is lol For Jacob, I use Firefox and all maps show on my pc, sorry you are having trouble. Posted by: Jay Bishop Chris, start posting their IP addresses next to their name. Personally, I like the blog. I read it several times a day. I think you do a good job. Posted by: Tiffani Just another thank you, Chris. I always check in with your blog, and my students do as well. We appreciate your forecasting, and all of us know the effort you go to to give an accurate forecast. Thanks! Posted by: Amanda Chris, forget the haters! I just started reading your blog and really enjoy your comments, I trust your reports more than anyone. Thanks. Posted by: Peace0013 Chris, thanks for all the hard work. I'm a school teacher and your blog is invaluable. I love the fact that I can read your blog and it helps me prepare for the next day or week depending upon the weather forecast. I still design lessons no matter what but can make some modifications to the lessons if snow is inevitable. Once again, thanks for your hard work and dedication to your loyal viewers. Bring on the snow without the ice and sleet. Makes it so dangerous for everyone if ice and sleet comes. Posted by: Snowbunny Apparently another blogger has stolen my name! I'm pretty sure I am the original SNOWBUNNY! Oh well, still keeping my fingers crossed for some hefty snow in Huntington and Milton! :) Posted by: Amanda The teachers at my school LOVE your blog! It definitely gets checked at least once a day by all of us :) Our principal says "Chris Bailey again?" We call you our secret boyfriend :) Posted by: Anonymous Love reading your blog..Check it everyday. Keep up the good work.. Posted by: val I live along the Big Sandy river and can see it rising. Looks like it's up continuing that way. That was a lot of rain we had here Friday and over the weekend. As you've forecasted, we will be getting more moisture in one form or another in the next few days. I would assume the Ohio is going to back up and cause some flooding with all this. Will keep you posted. Very cool time lapse video! Posted by: Jennifer I appreciate the blog and have become quite addicted! There is a saying that goes something like this, "Weathermen are right often enough that we have to listen to them, but wrong often enough that we can't trust them!" Keep doing the best you can, Chris! Posted by: Lisa Thanks for the blog Chris. You put everything in plain English, which makes a lot easier to understand. Who cares what the others say, I think you do an awesome job with the weather. Posted by: April You tell them Chris. Keep up the AWESOME work. Posted by: TIM CHRIS, YOU DO A GREAT JOB! YOUR HARD WORK IS WELL APPRECIATED! THANKS FOR ALL THE EXTRA TIME YOU SPEND TO KEEP US INFORMED! I VIEW YOUR BLOG ON A DAILY BASIS TO GET THE LATEST FORECAST. I DONT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO THE OTHER LOCAL STATIONS. THEY ARE ONLY READING WHAT IS GIVEN TO THEM BY THE NWS. YOU ACTUALLY LOOK AT THE MODELS AND GIVE US YOUR PREDICTION. YOU HAVE BEEN DEAD ON WITH THE WINTER WEATHER ALL SEASON. LOVE THE TIME LAPSE OF D.C. Posted by: masongirl thanks for all the ahed work Chris!! Glad to hear you are a 6 year blogging veteran & you won't let haters ruin it for us!!! I will be disappointed to summer come then what is to blog about? Thanks for the blog, we love watching for the snow reports! Posted by: JScott Hey Chris! Great call on the Jan. 30th storm! You were forecasting a significant snow long before anyone else on that one. Thanks for all the long hours you put in, and all the time you dedicate to this blog. I would like to say hello to Toney in Wayne and the Snowman in Williamson. Hopefully we will get a few inches out of this one moving in! Posted by: Kim Chris keep up the great work!!You do a excellent job and pay no attention to those who have to be negative. They are not happy people. Posted by: Jacob Maps...we need maps. They aren't showing up in Google Chrome, MS IE, or Firefox. Thanks for all you do. Posted by: scioto county Clear skies sunny 26 degrees at 2pm snow or rain ? Depends on how fast the system from the north moves in on us to bring colder air but along with that will be fierce winds to move precip. out quickly so no good senario on heavy snow totals i believe your forcast for consevative totals will be right on the money. Posted by: Dan Enjoy the Blog...Keep up the GREAT work. Posted by: JodyAnn I Have been reading these blogs for a long, and realy enjoy them. This is the first time i have made a comment.I Think Chris does a good job.And the ones making the childish remarks need to do it eles where. And let the rest of us enjoy. Posted by: Rich I appreciate all your hard work. You are the go to guy when it comes to weather. Your blogs are creating a pretty loyal following. Thanks again. Posted by: J Go Chris!! Glad you are making sure this blog is kept the way it was intended, to let us know about upcoming weather..and a great teaching tool!! Posted by: Mary Jo Sometimes just anticipating the snow is as much pleasure as a big storm. Brings those thoughts of childhood. Posted by: Gretchen Love your blog. My students ask to see it everyday and in every period that I teach!!You help make teaching weather easier with your explainations!! Posted by: Traci You tell them Chris. Posted by: Jen Thanks Chris! Hoping for alot of snow this time!!! You do very impressive work! Posted by: Jean Thanks for all of the time and effort you put in to keeping us informed and updated, Chris. I really appreciate what you do for us! Posted by: Clark Thanks Chris for all the hard work. I check you blog throughout the day...especially when frozen precipitation is in the forecast. My kids make fun of me for checking so often. I have even took my daughters ipod at night to check you out. hahah Bring on the snow...no ice please. Posted by: Roberta Thanks Chris. I always appreciate the updates and hard work you do! Posted by: Seth Just wondering why Lewis County, Ky is included in the 3-6 inch range, but does not have an advisory. Thanks for the update Chris. You work hard to keep us prepared, and your true fans know this. Posted by: What Angela said I agree with Angela,... some forecasters NEVER predict totals until the snow is acutally on the ground. You gotta give Chris props for having the guts to give us some predictions. So if Chris is off cut him some slack, and when he is right give him his due. Posted by: Anonymous Are we going o get any snow here. Posted by: WOW TWC has issued a winter storm warning for us now beginning at 7 pm tonight. Looks like Chris is ahead of the game again! Thanks Chris for keeping us informed! Posted by: Angela Marina never calls for anything, she doesnt make predictions etc...neither does josh Posted by: Julie Hi Chris, Thanks so much for all your hard work. Please don't let the ones making their negative comments ruin this blog. Your faithfull followers understand that you are letting us know all of the possibilities and we truly appreciate that. I love following your blog and will be looking for your updates. You make it very clear your forecast is not set in stone. Weather is a prediction and not an exact science. Don't get mad at Chris if you don't get snow. I am a snow lover and am happy to know there are lots of other snow lovers out there. Posted by: Laiken watson Wow how awsome is the time lapse of DC(: Way cool Chris!! And can't wait till the snow!! Hopefully no school tomorrow!! Posted by: Patty Hi Chris, We in Dingess, WV didn't get a dusting of snow. Very unusual. Let's see how this new system plays out. Keep up the great work. Love your maps. Especially the possible totals. Posted by: Patty Hi Chris, Posted by: Abby Johnson County is now under a winter storm warning. Posted by: Dan That video was sweet! I would love to see snow like that here in charleston! Thanks for the update and video Chris! Posted by: Mary Jo We will stand by you Chris. Looks like we now have a lot of non-believers. Posted by: Anonymous I just watched Merina. She`s not calling for any accumulation. HMMMMM? I also switched over to WOWK. Jarod is calling for about the same as Chris. Interesting! Posted by: D Love the blog. Thanks for the work that you put into it. When there is a snow threat I check it multiple times each day. Keep up the good work. I appreciate the detail. Posted by: last time Everyone agreed last time, too. That didn't make it accurate either. This isn't a "storm" for us. It will be a nice 1-3" snowfall. We WILL get rain tomorrow folks. It may start off as some snow showers and freezing rain, but will go to rain as temperatures at the ground will reach more than 35 degrees. About 1-2 hours to our north will get 3-6" more inches. Sorry. Posted by: Carolyn The video is really cool..I was rather disappointed about the weekend snow though...Thought we would get atleast a little..But I really enjoy your blog, please continue to keep us informed on upcoming snow should we get any..Thank You Posted by: Bah! Enough with the cold and snow!!!! I'm ready for spring!!!! Posted by: Christina If all you nay-sayers don't like what Chris' interpretation of the maps say, then by all means, start your own weather forcasting service on your own blog, and quit spouting off on here. If you don't agree, then move on! It is that simple! Posted by: Justin Acuweather is agreeing...the NWS never comes on board until it is already here basically. So that would be the only source forcasting rain, all of which was put there a week in advance. Huntington may see some rain, but I am sure we will see what Chris is saying Posted by: Anonymous I thinking I am going to fly south next year! Thank you for everything you do to keep us informed Chris. It is greatly appreciated. I have been following your blog since you stared it with WSAZ, and you have hit the nail on the head MANY more times than you have missed (if you even want to call any of it a miss)! I take what you say over weather.com any day! Posted by: beverly we hope to see some snow in portsmouth this time we have had a crummy winter we want snow thanks for the work you do for all of us Posted by: worried we in jackson county want to know how this will affect us? Posted by: Bill This is turning into an interesting storm. Accuweather is calling for 7.9 inches of snow through Wednesday for Oak Hill, OH,... however other weather sites are calling for nothing. Interesting to see how this turns out. Posted by: Zack Please make it snow tonight so there won't be any school tomorrow......lol Do you figure most of the schools in the area will have a closing or delay? Posted by: stephanie thanks for all you do love to read your blog you do a great job Posted by: Anonymous Chris, you need to address the warm air coming with that storm. My other sources say we could reach 38 tomorrow in the river cities. Are you going to forecast all snow and ice, or are you calling for a chance of all rain/no accumulation? If so, when and where will warm air be a problem for snow lovers in the river cities. Posted by: Lou Hey Chris, It's still not too late to climb aboard the rain train. The next stop that it makes will be Huntington. Tell all the people in Wayne and Hamlin too. Posted by: Susan Could you be a little more specific about what you see for Athens County. We are totally dependent on you for our weather. Posted by: Anonymous Thanks again Chris for the updates! Hope Racine, Ohio gets in on some good snowfall! Posted by: Susan I'll believe it when I see it. Posted by: Autumn Chris thanks for all your hard work, i love reading your blogs while at work it keeps me updated. This "monster storm" your talking about thats on its way for Tuesday/Wednesday i have a feeling we are going to get our fair share of snow, but its winter time so what do you expect.. BRING IT ON OLD MAN WINTER! Posted by: Tanya Thanks Chris - I am lovin' this weather!! Posted by: Lance I'm sure several people have tickets for CATS tomorrow evening at the Keith Albee (7:30) I've been looking forward to this for a LONG time. Is the snow going to ruin it for me?? :o( Posted by: Fred H Hello Chris, one question. In your discussion above you mention the "540 thickness line". What does this refer to in the NAM model? Thanks for taking time to answering this and for keeping all of so informed. Have a good day. Posted by: Mom I this one going to miss here in Sandy Hook like the one over the weekend did. I'm not really complaining, because I really respect you blog, its the first thing I read every morning and check all day long. Keep up the good work and THANKS CHRIS Posted by: ChrisBailey's#1Fan Chris, you rock! I thought I was dreaming as I read this entry!!! Posted by: Mark Is this going to be a wet snow or a dry blowing snow Posted by: Nancy Neat time-lapse of the snow falling in the DC area! Posted by: mr.excitiment Rats!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Posted by: LS Thanks CB. Posted by: Annony very neat video Chris! And thank you for all your hard work! Posted by: Mylissa Love it! Thanks for the time lapse video... AMAZING! Only wish we could experience one good snow fall like that! Posted by: snowbunny Thanks Chris, the video is great! I've followed your blog for a very long time now and I've got to say, you have it down pat! I'd much rather have the "most likely" to occur, than to have a pessimistic forecast and be caught off guard. So what if a few things didn't hit??? It's not an exact science and Mother Nature has the last say. I think you do a GREAT job and I'm sticking with you and the WSAZ forecast HANDS DOWN over the others! :0) And yes, that includes the NWS as well. If I were in charge there...I'd be trying to steal you away from WSAZ! But even if they do try...just stay with us, will ya Chris??? lol. Thanks for your hard work. Posted by: Believe it when I c it Its hard to believe the weather man/women when they are wrong most of the time. Posted by: Lisa Yeah Snow! I hope this does not turn to rain. I want the snow. Yeah Snow! Posted by: WAITING FOR SNOW COME ON BABY BRING ON THE SNOW. I HOPE WE GRT HAMMERED Posted by: Wanda Chris,Looks like it going to get bad for here in eastern Ky.
