The winds of change are blowing your friendly weather-dude west.

Good Thursday everyone. Today is a bittersweet day for me as I say goodbye to all of you and WSAZ-TV and get ready to say hello to my new/old tv home. I have accepted the position of Chief Meteorologist at WKYT-TV in Lexington, Kentucky and begin on Monday.

This is the station I worked at for the ten years prior to me landing at WSAZ back in 2008. It's an opportunity that was offered to me and is simply too good for me to pass up.

It has been an amazing three and a half years for me here at WSAZ. Getting to work for the station I grew up watching has been an amazing experience and one I will always treasure. This station is full of great people who have been wonderful to work with through the years and I have made lifelong friends during my time here.

I am especially going to miss you guys. You have managed to turn this blog into a full blown weather community for this region. I honestly want to say a big "thank you" to each of you for all you have done for me and the blog over the past three and a half years.

You can still follow my blogs at . They are geared toward the state of Kentucky, but you will find me doing a lot of the same things you have been seeing on this blog. You can also follow me on twitter: @kentuckyweather

Knowing me like you do... you know I can't leave you without giving you some thoughts on the weather. :)

- Today looks great with temps in the upper 50s to near 60 with mostly sunny skies.

- A potent storm system brings another shot of severe thunderstorms our way late Friday into Friday night.

- Much colder air moves in over the weekend and we have a shot at some light snow to end the weekend Sunday into Sunday night.

- This is a robust pattern taking shape for March and is one that can easily produce a winter storm threat at some point. Will that happen? I guess we will see, but one thing is for sure. You will have to find someone else to blame if it doesn't . :)

I will be seeing you guys on WSAZ-TV one last time later today. Thanks again for all you do and know you will always have a special place in my heart.

God bless and take care.
