Your Week Ahead Weather

Temps will be on the rise.

Good Sunday everybody. Our weekend is ending on a milder note across the tri state and that’s a signal for what’s to come over the next several days. Throw in a couple of big storm systems to track and you have the recipe for a busy week of weather.

High temps today will hit the mid and upper40s for most areas under partly sunny skies.

The really mild air starts to kick in on Monday with readings warming to near 60 degrees. Winds should be rather gusty from the southwest. There will be a weak front settling in just to our north on Tuesday and that may knock a degree or two off the temps in our northern counties.

The focus will quickly turn toward a developing storm in the plains states. This storm will roll toward the Great Lakes by Wednesday and this looks to bring fairly widespread showers and thunderstorms in here. Check out the continued booming look of the GFS…

That is a setup that can spawn strong or severe thunderstorms from the Ohio Valley into the Tennessee Valley and that’s something we will need to keep an eye on.

There is likely to be another storm heading across the northern half of the country by late week into early next weekend. Many of the models try to develop a secondary low pressure along this front as it passes through the Appalachian Mountains. The European Model…

No thanks… your friendly weather-dude is ready for full-blown spring and wants nothing to do with anything that might give us the remote chance at something wintry. Now, Am I being serious or am I going for the reverse jinx? Believe whichever you want, but I can assure you that neither will have an outcome on how the weather plays out. ;)
