   I'd love to stuff my face with a few dozen Christmas cookies but this year I'm going to pass.  I packed on 7 pounds last December during an all-out food fest that I quickly regretted by January 1st. I specifically remember not being able to fit into any of my pants and telling myself that they ALL shrunk in the dryer (:

   So, in order to keep motivated and continue running, I found a couple of fantastic races here in Charleston and down in Orlando.

   It all starts this Sunday in Kanawha City. Charleston Parks and Recreation and the Tallman Track Club present the "Winter Series." It's a 3-run event that kicks off with a 5k. In January, the 2nd race is an 8k. In February. we'll lace up for the final race which is a 10k.  This is such a great way to stay on track throughout the winter.   Also, my running partner-in-crime Jennifer, found the most fabulous race in the "World"! It's the Walt Disney World "Princess Half-Marathon". Yes, I am totally serious about this. It takes place in the beginning of March and invites all the ladies down to Orlando for an amazing and athletic weekend.  I am 90% sure that I am signing up for this one. I can visit the family and then take a nice little 13 mile "jaunt"  through Disney! To be more realistic, I will probably sweat, cry and whine my way through the course, but it will be a beautiful one!
