Memorial Day Weekend Outlook

The unofficial start of summer is approaching- Memorial Day! How's the weather looking?...

It's a little far down the road; but, many folks are starting to make plans for Memorial Day weekend. So the question is, what weather can we expect? Here is a look at the GFS forecast ouput...

The above images show the relative humidity (available moisture) at the 850 mb level, which helps us to predict cloud coverage and rain. For Saturday, relative humidity is a bit high, which hints at the likelihood of heavier cloud coverage. However, the chance of rain should stay northeast of our area. Sunday, on the otherhand, should see an abundance of sunshine, with lower moisture levels forecasted.

As for the temperature forecast, here is forecast at the 850mb level...

Saturday temperatures at the 850mb level sit near 6°C, while Sunday's temperatures will sit near 10°C. At the surface, this should translate to Saturday's highs in the low to mid 70's, with Sunday's highs near 80.

Bottom line, Sunday is looking to be a better bet for outdoor grilling. However, we will get a better idea of the forecast withiin the next couple of days. So, stay tuned!

Have a nice weekend!
