Slight Severe Risk Wednesday

While tracking some strong storms this evening, the risk for severe weather is actually tomorrow...

Although storms this evening were mostly scattered in nature, some of the cells were rather strong. In fact, up to 1,800 in Cabell County were without power this evening. Several severe thunderstorm warnings were issued at points throughout the evening, with up to golf ball sized hail falling in areas. However, the chance of severe weather is better for tomorrow...

The RPM model shows spotty showers for the mid-morning tomorrow, a lull, and then spotty showers again in the mid-afternoon (1st and 2nd panel). The timing for the stronger storms will likely start in the evening and into the overnight, with the RPM model showing strong developing along 64 by 7:30 PM (bottom panel).

The Storm Prediction Center has our area under a slight potential for severe weather, with concerns for strong winds and localized flooding. After seeing several reports of hail today, I wouldn't be surprised if hail popped up tomorrow too.
