Tuesday Night Update

An update on the forecast for the next few days and a look at a cool down which is expected in our future.

Another cold night is in store for us; but, it won’t be quite as cold as the single digit lows we saw last night. Temperatures will dip to 15-20°, with the more rural areas of our region sitting closer to 15°. Some high clouds will move over our southern extents overnight, with the passing of a southerly rain system. A mix of sun and clouds is expected tomorrow, as highs climb into the 40s. The slow warming trend will continue through the end of the week, with highs on Friday near 50°.

On the topic of Friday, the latest NAM model run is edging a southerly rain system closer to our region…

We will need to continue to monitor the models to see if this outlook remains. If so, the chance of rain may need to be added to the forecast Friday afternoon in our southeastern counties.

As for the weekend potential for rain and snow, the latest models are showing a weaker outlook…

The precipitation looks light, and will likely push through quickly early Sunday morning.

While temperatures are moderating this week, the models are hinting at a cool down for the end of next week…

Have a good night!
