Once again I am leading a double life by taking on the lead role in Charleston Light Opera Guild's reprise of South Pacific! I am playing Nellie Forbush, an optimistic nurse in the navy during World War II stationed in the South Pacific islands. I fall in love with a plantation owner, Emile de Beque, who is played brilliantly by Bill Rainey. This Rogers and Hammerstein favorite is considered one of the best musicals of all time and the revival on Broadway right now is having great success! The musical opened back in 1949 and actually won the pullitzer prize for Best Drama. The musical is based on James A. Michener's Pulitzer Prize-winning 1948 novel titled "Tales of the South Pacific". With unforgettable songs like Some Enchanted Evening, I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair, and There's Nothing Like a Dame and a story filled with love, tragedy, and a picture of life for the armed forces on these islands, South Pacific is a musical that you don't want to miss! I have the privaledge of working for the first time with the Charelston Light Opera Guild and they are an amazing company! Everyone involved from Director Nina Denton Pasinetti, Musical Director John Marshall to the backstage crew and the actors on stage it is beautiful production that you want to see with a relevant story that has stood the test of time! I am so honored to share the stage with so many talented actors so make sure that you don't miss the show! Performances are May 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, & 16 at 7:30 pm and May 10 at 3pm (which is Mother's Day and a great gift for mom!) All performances are in the Charleston Civic Center Little Theater in Charleston, WV and tickets are 20.00 per person. You can get tickets by calling 304-343-2287 or get more information at www.charlestonlightoperaguild.org! |

Posted by: Cliff Marina, This may be of some interest concerning Chron's Disease and people that suffer from low levels of Glutathione. Posted by: Barbara Not a comment on your acting ability but on your triumph over an hideous disease and your courage in sharing your battle with others. We are richer for your generosity and I send all good wishes for your continued triumph over adversity Posted by: Roselyn I could not find a place to comment on your Chrone Disease. My grandson has it and afer many years. He uis being treated with Humara and is having great results. He gives himself a shot every two weeks. He was on Rhemicade and it lost it effectivenest he lives in Jacksonville, Fl. I know how painful this is. He first found out he had this the night of his Junior Prom in 1998. They tried everything that was know at that time to help him. At this time he is really doing well. Hope you get better. Posted by: Edward I have Asthma, ADHD, and Aspergers. Just wanted to say I know autoimmune disease well and understand the good and bad days. My brother has Chrons. I have recommended various IgG suppressors when it came to a dutch study. There are also many things that suppress the histamine response, lower histamine blood levels, and certain foods contain histamine. The three things that I know of that work best for these things are Quercetin, L-methionine, and Copper Amine Oxidase. The last one is used as an indicator of how your liver is dealing with the inflammation mediation response. I would have to look through my books but there was a bio-active study using a bacterium modified to suppress IgG that lives in cheese. I would be interested in sharing more. Best of luck. Posted by: Emily I attended a show last weekend and it was one of the best I have seen CLOG produce. You did a great job with the character! I really enjoyed watching you perform and hope you will consider more productions with CLOG! Posted by: Ercyl Spurlock I saw a little bit of your performance and it was good. I wish I were able to attend a performance. Keep up the good work. Posted by: sameer9 A husband, unnamed, emerges only once from the shadows. Still, Bernhardt writes vividly and with apparent honesty about her "thin and sorrowful visage," her troublesome failures to abide by contracts, and occasions when she "performed very badly." Most memorable is the German siege of Paris in 1870- 1871, when she turned her theater, the Odeon, into a military hospital, scrounged for provisions in the isolated city and burned the seats and props for warmth. Despite her failure to deliver on the teasing promise of her title, Bernhardt can be quite winning. She concludes by remarking, "My life, which I had at first expected to be very short, now seemed likely to be very very long; and it gave me great joy to think of the infernal displeasure that would cause my enemies." I'm a mother of a kindergartener at Rio Grande Elementary in Rio Grande, Ohio. Josh Fitzpatrick committed to doing an appearance at our Annual End-of-the-Year Variety Show two weeks ago. However, he just pulled out because of a work scheduling conflict. The kids are sooo upset! They thought they were going to see someone from TV and get to be on TV. Also, we formed our whole opening script around weather phrase/terms. We are left hanging and need someone to help us! Our Variety Show is this Thursdy--we do a school performance at 12 p.m. and then a performance for the public at 7 p.m. It's always a huge deal to the kids and a great show for the parents. Can you come and be our sunshine? We need a weather expert! Posted by: Judy I watch you every morning so I was so excited to get to see you in the production, SOUTH PACIFIC.
