Green beer v. green veggies.

Since I'm working to get in shape for spring, there will be no St. Patty's Day Party for me. Instead of potato soup and green beer, the meal plan for today includes a protein shake and a salmon burger (sadly, minus the bun).  Folks, this is a sign of the times. They are a' changin' (at least for me.)

However, I do remember the years when I would desperately search my closet  for  something green at the very last minute and then join friends for all the craze that is St. Patrick's Day.  Clearly, those days of reckless abandon are gone.   I can also say that I never succumbed to the "Kiss Me I'm Irish" t-shirt trick that men use to get a little St. Patty's lovin'.

All that is behind me now because I'm older, wiser and on the road to well-being (at least for this week.) As an added bonus... I can take comfort in knowing that I won't have a headache tomorrow morning (:

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Jessica

Posted by: Long Time Viewer Just wanted to inform whoever is over the Karaoke Starz segment that the Viewers Choice voting can be rigged. All a person has to do is delete 'cookies' on the computer and they can vote as many times as they want. I noticed this happening after I tried it at random on one of the contestants, and then all the sudden I noticed Aaron Holleys votes more than doubled in a matter of minutes. Does someone want him to win THAT bad they would stack the votes?!!

Posted by: Charles Hey Jessica, I am the guy that called last night and talk to Carla while you where still on air. I told her that I have been a viewer for years. I hopr that she gave you my message about how good that you are looking! Please don,t worry, I am not a celebertiy Staker or some kind of weido. I was just raised to have great respect for good women, thanks to my mother. I am just a humble guy who has had curves balls thrown at me in this life healthwise. Though I battle with my health problems on A dailey basic, I still know how to pay A complement to A Pretty Lady who also has the Class to go with the looks. So take care Pretty Lady! Your friend" Charles "

Posted by: Jessica Sue and Monica, Thanks for the hair compliments. It does look different all the time, simply because it's naturally wavy and unruly(: So when I can get it straight it looks a lot longer, when it still has wave it looks shorter. However, I just got several inches cut off yesterday. It feels a lot better! Thanks again.

Posted by: Sue Sorry I made you hungry! No more food talk. Like Monica, I noticed your hair was different...dark highlights in the front. It looked very nice.

Posted by: Phil I read an article on aol and seen it on television that sex is better than diet and exercise.......now just to convince my wife

Posted by: Monica Jessica- Your hair always looks so amazing! It's just absolutely gorgeous! I can help but notice that your style changes frequently though. I was just wondering if you wear wigs or extentions? Whatever you use it looks great! Love, Monica

Posted by: Jessica Sue, you would be proud to know that I am on a really good eating plan. 5-6 small meals a day, packed with protein plus some good carbs and good fats. I'm also downing the water. I have a great trainer watching over me, so I think I'm on the right track. Please don't mention cheesey burritos, it only reminds me of what I can't have ): Actually, reading your post made my stomach growl!

Posted by: Sue Jessica, don't forget to eat while training. You need nutrients for building muscle. You just can't scarf down cheesy beefy burritos 10 times a week. Differences between men and women Part 1: You will never see a woman with anything even romotely related to "kiss me" on the front of her shirt. Why? Because strange men would be lined up to kiss them. Same reasoning behind women never "cat-calling" at men. Men would run after the car to get in! (Last part is not mine, but I forgot who said it).

Posted by: Austin try to find a book,West Points guide for physical fitness and health.....1200 cal a day,but there are plenty of things listed you can eat all you want.

Posted by: Jessica Ralston J, I don't think it's a burger without a bun, but this low-carb nightmare is hard. Calling it a burger still gives me something to hold onto (:

Posted by: J Is it really a burger without a bun?

Posted by: Fit for life I do not drink any kind of beer, let alone green beer, but however, I steered clear of the potato soup myself this year. I lost 50 pounds over a year ago and have been able to keep it off, until recently. And now I've put on about 6 pounds and not very happy about it either. I am doing all that I can to get it back off. Exercise, eating right and the right amounts. Glad to see I'm not the only one. Good for you Jessica, keep up the good work, and maybe you'll inspire other people to do the same! Get in shape tri-state!
