Here's My Voice

I know.  It's been painful to listen to me on the news this week.  (more painful than it normally is!)  I caught a cold and my voice is hoarse from it.  So I'll use this blog as my voice for now.  It's not exactly the same as talking on the news, but it will have to do.  Hopefully the weekend will give me enough time to get over this.

When you're enjoying your President's Day Monday off from work or school, you can check out the news and see if my voice is still laughable.  If it is, feel free to send me a note and tell me to be quiet!  Or you can send your own traditional remedy.  I'm partial to the ones that involve bourbon.

Posted by: nancy just an F Y I, I wander how many people were not alowed to vote for Clinton. I know of two people in scioto co. that could not .

Posted by: Clyde Why the leader in W.Va. don't have to vote the well of the voters?

Posted by: Diania Hall I have a real concern about the voting for the karaoke stars. It seems like you have to have a computer to vote and to me that is wrong I know of people that would like to vote for a few on the people on the karaoke starz and can't I think that there should be a phone number to call to and not just a computer. You can't even go to the library to even vote because of the registering so there is no cheating so if one person uses the computer if there was someone else wanted to vote they couldn't I think that it is should have been better organized better than it was. MyZ should have had their own judges at the bars. there should not been people that own the karaoke in the bars intered the contest but there was. If there should be another karaoke I hope it will be better organized

Posted by: Debi I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the WSAZ NewsChannel 3 First Warning Weather Team especially Meterologist Todd Borek on the continual coverage of this past Friday's storm system. It was both informative, accurate and professional. I live in Prestonsburg (Floyd County), the Storm Tracker feature great. It helped me to better prepare for the oncomming tornado. This is just another reason I always tune in to WSAZ NewsChannel 3 for the best coverage in Eastern Kentucky for news, sports and weather. I really appreciate it. Thanks again! Debi Manuel

Posted by: april I have to post a blog about the pot holes in the alley of waco road in spring valley, they are horrendous, you could lose a car in one of them. I cant believe the city hasnt tried to fix them, i hope by posting this that the city will come to attention on this matter, thank you so much for letting me post this,

Posted by: Kathy Just a belated note to say "Thank You" for showing UK basketball games this season. I love them and appreciate channel 3 bringing them into my home. This Ohio Buckeye loves the UK Blue and WSAZ!!!!

Posted by: Ann How can you keep promoting Barnum and Bailey's circus when most everyone (or I thought most everyone)has been made aware of the abuses and neglect that Ringling inflicts upon its animals, especially their elephants. This evidence has been documented time and time again by video no less so the proof is there if people would just look at it. I am very disappointed in my favorite newscasters to say the least for obviously being uniformed on this issue. Or, surely it is not because you don't care about the welfare of animals?

Posted by: Victoria You think there is a large gap between the haves and have nots now, take away regular TV and that gap will get ever wider. All this is, is greed. I and many more like me cannot afford digital or cabel TV. We do good to keep food on the table or even a roof over our head. But of course someone as yourselves do not know what it is like to do without the very basic necissities of life. There is a thing called cultural capital that we are supposed to instill in the minds of our children to give them a better start in school. Expose them to classical music, take them to art galleries, let them see how people in other parts of the world live. For some children, that TV was the only place they had a chance to see things as these. Now you want to take that away from those who need it most, those who cannot afford it. You, as in those who made this decision, will reap what you sow. You think the crime rate is high now, there is gonna be a whole lot of poor, boared people out there.

Posted by: Rhonda If we do not stand our grounds about the gas prices, the government will be putting us on government assistance. Many of us have to drive about 50 miles to/from work. And at least we're trying to work. Right now, I see food stamps in my future.

Posted by: Dora Mae Rob that hot toddy may not cure your cold ,but it will show it a good time . Keep up the good reporting .

Posted by: Terry I wasn't sure on how to reach the sports dept.,but I watch you every morning. Posted by: Tammy I recently sent a comment about the Floyd County school bus accident. I heard a song on tonights ll pm newscast, but that isn't the one I remember. The one I remember said something like this: The truck loomed out before them, the bus so quickly swirved. Then their was a line about God taking care of the children and one 27 years by 3 I remember, but I can't get all of the words if anyone has them or knows where I could find them I would appreciate any info. Thanks Tammy

Posted by: Debbie Phyllis what the heck does that have to do with this topic???? We're trying to get Rob well, you just gave him a headache, go to the political blog. BTW you're sounding better Rob, did you try the bourbon and jalepeno drink?

Posted by: phyllis how easily we are to forget. Who was the President while in office had the affair with Monica. Give McCain a break!!!!

Posted by: Debbie Wow Doug that would be quite a combo! You wanna try it and tell us how that works Rob?

Posted by: Doug Why not put the Jalapeño peppers in the bourbon? You can get the best of each together.

Posted by: Peg Yes, Rob you are one of my favorites too, and thought hearing you the other morning, why didn't he stay home and rest that voice. Vick's vapor rub seemed to always help me and a good bowl of homemade chicken soup. Take care.

Posted by: Judy Hope you get well soon! You are one of my favorites on WSAZ!

Posted by: Debbie Just pray you don't get that cough a lot of people have, it's bad. Also while you make not like it as well as Bourbon, Jalapeno peppers are great for congestion and fever blisters, as are hot green chiles.
