You Can't Beat Me!!!

It's time to go to the Bracketology link on our webchannel and make your picks for the NCAA.  I'm here to tell you that you can't beat me.  OK...maybe you can, but I have to scare off the competition.

Every year we have a fun pool in our office.  The sports guys always talk a big game...and then finish at the bottom.  So when you see that Keith Morehouse, John Mulvaney and Paul Gessler are also playing in Bracketology...don't worry.  They can't beat you.

I want to pass along some helpful information for anyone who wants to play.  Don't pick the defending national champ.  (Florida didn't make the tournament.)  Don't pick every local school.  (Morehead State, Marshall, Ohio State and Ohio U. didn't make it either.)  Also, don't pick Coppin State to win it all.  After that sage advice, you're on your own.  I'm not going to help people to beat me at my own game.

If you win the Bracketology game, I will make you a promise.  I will announce your name on the news and give you the proper congratulations that you are due.  Then under my breath, I will badmouth you.

So what do you think...did my Indiana Hoosiers get the worst seeding in the whole tournament.  The Hoosiers were in the top ten in the nation one month ago.  Today Indiana is a number 8 seed and would have to face number one in the nation North Carolina if they even get lucky enough to win against Arkansas.  I guess that's the real penalty  for Coach Kelvin Sampson's cheating.  Indiana is a tough team and D.J. White may be the only guy who is better in the center position than North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough.  I still don't think I can pick my Hoosiers to beat Carolina.

You have a couple more days to make your picks.  So sign up today.

Posted by: Brian Well, my bracket is pure trash. I missed seven games in the first round and six in the second. Worst of all, I had Duke in the Final Four, which made me sick to do anyway, but I at least thought it was a solid play. I'm doing better than this in my NASCAR league, anyway.

Posted by: Anonymous OK Rob, how are your scores? I have to say I didn't pick IU. That was one of the games I got right. I missed a few. But as long as the Cards are still playing, it's all good. GO CARDS !!!!!!!

Posted by: Karen Rob, I did pick IU over Ark. but since I am a die-hard UK fan that is as far as I will pick them to win. Of course, with HHS star Patrick Patterson out I don't think UK is going to go very far either, but you never know. I will keep going with you each round and wish you good luck but not too much. Thanks for the great job that you do on the air with the news.

Posted by: Billy Keen Come on Rob you know basetball? That like saying Keith isn't a good sports caster and we know better

Posted by: bill lets play

Posted by: $100,000 winner Go Maggie.... The Hoosiers are insistent

Posted by: Brad I have to agree with Woody. How do you get a job like yours. Seems like I might be the only one that picked the Razorbacks over your Hoosiers. Good Luck and keep up the good work.

Posted by: Debbie Rob, I'm actually having trouble with the web page, hopefully I can get it to work today. I hate to say this, but I think Arkansas might win against IU, I haven't made up my mind yet, but that certainly will be no piece of cake. Indianna, in my opinion, (and you know what they say about opinions) Lost it's chance at a good seed when it lost by around 40 to Michigan State. they just haven't played well lately. I say Go Cards, but I don't think they'll win it all either. I know one thing, everytime I pick Kansas a long way out they choke.

Posted by: Maggie I def. choose Arkansas over Indiana the reason why is because DJ White and the hoosiers are inconsistent. I am not a North Carolina fan nor am I a Tyler Hansbrough fan but Ty Hansbrough would eat DJ White alive....

Posted by: Woody Mr.Johnson, One must admire a man that is able to spend his early mornings sanwiched in between Melody and Murina. What a man. As far as basketball goes, I think we all have the same amount of knowledge, not very much. Admit it, it is mostly luck. Go Herd.

Posted by: Matt Rob, I have your Hoosiers beating Arkansas. I think they may just be able to beat the tar heels but I wouldn't bet my bracket on it.

Posted by: Tim Rob, I have made my picks and I have picked your Hoosiers over Arkanasas. I am a SEC fan but I believe the Hoosiers will beat the little piggies and send them all the way home. I look forward to checking out how our picks are doing against one another. Good luck, you just may need it. (I have to talk a little trash early becasue after week one I may not be able to say anything else).

Posted by: Stacy Hey, Rob. I don't know much about sports, so I won't be playing the bracketology game, just wanted to say hello to you. And thank you for the great job you always do!
