Recently I was invited to read to the first graders at Green Elementary in Franklin Furnace,

The book is about two children, Henry and his sister, who listen to their grandfather tell the story of the town of
Below is a photo of myself and all the first graders and a couple of the teachers.
In the book, food falls from the sky on the towns people below. In real life, I explained to them that sometimes tornadoes can pick up fish and frogs and then rain them back down over land! It's true, that has happened before!
I can't stress on how important it is to get children interested in reading and books at young age. These first graders' imaginations went wild while reading this book.
