Homecoming Typically Falls in Herd's Favor
Rarely are the oddsmakers in Las Vegas too far off the mark when they predict who’s going to win on any given Saturday.  So it was with some surprise when I saw winless Marshall favored by 8 points over Rice this weekend.

Certainly the point spread has something to do with the fact that Rice has the worst defense in Conference , giving up 42 points a game and 528 yards per contest.  But the Herd has no business doing cartwheels because they’re favored….as Mark Snyder said this week, “We can’t afford to overlook anybody”.

Marshall has its own issues on defense----Marshall gives up 281 yards per game through the air and Rice loves to wing it around.  Chas Clement is a quality quarterback and wide receiver Jarrett Dillard is one of the better pass catchers in the league.

It’s homecoming at Marshall , and the Herd has won 14 in a row on Homecoming.  The Herd’s players, fresh off a pretty good performance against Southern Miss save for another dismal 1st quarter, are optimistic this is the weekend they can get their first win.  At 0-7, close doesn’t count for Marshall anymore.

Posted by: MU Student Hey Keith, Whats up with this Marshall Football player that broke in his girlfriends house and abused her(JOSH JOOHNSON). You never covered this topic. I seen that he got the chance to play last weekend but do you think that he should have been allowed.

Posted by: Don So, why you never update the Josh Johnson story? You said you would have more at 11 p.m. on Monday. I watched and saw nothing. I watched at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, and saw nothing. Do you only cover times of success for the MU players, and not when they hit girls?
