Signature Win Time?

As Marshall heads to the sunny clime of central Florida, it begs the question, might Orlando be the place for a Mark Snyder signature win? You know the kind of game I’m talking about. The kind where you take your team to a hostile environment and beat a team you weren’t supposed to beat. So far, the Herd has struggled in Conference USA road games in the Snyder era (winning only against Tulane in Mobile in 2005, and UAB in Birmingham last year.)

It won’t be easy. UCF is coming off an impressive win over Southern Miss in Hattiesburg and they have possibly the best tailback in Conference USA in Kevin Smith. They’ll run him at least 30 times against Marshall’s depleted defensive line. But it’ll be homecoming for Marshall Quarterback Bernard Morris, who’s from Orlando. He had maybe his most complete game as a Marshall quarterback last week including an electrifying 26 yard touchdown run that was probably the highlight of the season.

The Herd will be a two touchdown underdog to the Golden Knights. UCF is still right in the middle of the CUSA East Division race. Mark Snyder would like nothing better than to spoil UCF’s Homecoming with an upset on the road. A signature win indeed.

Posted by: Ryan Keith, on your 11:00 p.m. broadcast tuesday night, you were talking about derrick rose and how he was a top contender with O.J. Mayo last year. You stated incorrectly that Memphis does not play this year against USC. They do play on December 4th at 9:00 p.m. on ESPN in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden. Just thought you might like to let the listeners know.

Posted by: Dave What exactly does the coaching staff want to do? What is their philosophy? Snyder should be able to sue his coaching staff for non-support and I wonder if they really want him to succeed. Snyder acts panicky on the sidelines and that transfers to his players. There hasn't been confidence displayed even at the beginning of the season. Coaches don't seem to be prepared to grasp a situation until it is over. Remember the WVU game? Settle for a field goal before the half without trying for the endzone. How about Kansas State and the debacle at the end? How about UCF last year when a defensive timeout would have been good with 4th and 19 and a tired defense? Obviously, Snyder hasn't gotten support from his coaching staff or he hasn't taken it. Can anyone say Terry Bowden?

Posted by: Roger We'll, we know why he didn't stay there? They only want players that can actually play and well, he can't. I'm amazed that because Marshall won one game, over a team that only had one win, people think that they are back on track. They're not back on track and that won't be until they get rid of Morris and I'm starting to think that maybe Snyder needs to go also.

Posted by: no signature I guess NOT......Herd Marshall needs to drop down where they came from, think if they tried the SEC,it would be a punishable crime, they would be beaten so bad!!!Maybe they could try and enter the Ohio High school playoffs I don't care who coaches them, they need to go back to Div2

Posted by: Mike This was a Coach Snyder signature loss. In the Snyder era the Herd struggles in every game.
