Labor Day & Friends of Coal
If you missed the River Days parare in Portmouth of Saturday, here's a look at some of the action on Gallia Street where the clowns were out in force!
I am working the MDA telethon with two gorgeous and brainy blondes, aka Jess and Steph, so you might say life is good. Give us a shout or send us a text as we fight to rub out muscle diseases.
This Labor Day is full of fun and excitement with River Days concluding a great weekend of weather and events in Portsmouth while our friends in Catlettsburg are celebrating the last day of summer (unofficially) with a parade and bash downtown.
The weather will be perfect for pool parties, picnics and parades with sunshiny skies and highs in the 80s. Lather the kids up with the sun block since the September sun can be “sneaky” strong.
Looking ahead to the week, a shot of heat on Tuesday could add another 90 degree day to the season. Then after a thundershower risk, a nice work and school week of weather will ensue.
Early call for the Friends of Coal Bowl will be for sunshiny skies&rsquo so after a comfy start look for temperatures to warm smartly to 80 for tailgaters then fall back into the cozy 70s for the opening kickoff and likely the upper 60s by the second half. Right now, no rain is expected except for the rain of hard hits and touchdowns for ESPN and the national TV audience.
