Hello 2014, Show Me Winter
I will make tonight’s blog short and sweet since I am off until Thursday.
The daytime run of the European weather model showed an extreme storm with blizzard intentions forming late weekend, early next week. While the Euro is alone in its depiction right now, one has to wonder if the American and Canadian weather models, (GFS and GEM), are far too tame with selling a modest shot of cold air next week and a light snow at best.
I am going to post the 3 solutions for weather fans to consider.
After the bowl games, I will come back with my latest thoughts. For now, fellow snow lovers sit back and marvel at/dream what would happen if next Monday’s Euro charts verify. SNOW HEAVEN!
Here's the Euro next Monday January 6h on the 18th anniversary of the Blizzard of 1996.
The more sedate American (GFS) and Canadian(GEM) models follow.
Even if you are not into reading weather maps, the sheer number of circular lines on the right side of the Euro's map and the intense red, orange and white colors in the upper middle of the screen tell me something big is up.
Here's the American Model which shows the bitter air (reds, purples) still in upper Midwest.
