Here We Go Again

Thunderstorms are prowling the region this Sunday evening. Tony is gathering reports of the ominous skies.

Manic Sunday Evening

Well we managed to sneak in a relatively quiet weekend thru 5 pm Sunday before the weather gods decided to fowl up evening barbecues.

Tornado Warnings for parts of Scioto and Adams Ohio and Lewis Kentucky foretold of sudden downpours, gusty winds and hail squalls, but fortunately no twister sightings or touchdowns.

Ahead we have an evening of dark skies with power flickers from lightning streaks and street flooding from new downpours. The target area is more Eastern Kentucky and Southern Ohio, though Ohio and Big Sandy River counties in West Virginia will experience some action too.

I have reports of grape size hail from Buena Vista in western Scioto County and some intense lightning along the Ohio River in Lewis County near Vanceburg as the evening’s highlights so far.

Police tell me parts of Route 52 near the Scioto-Adams line are closed due to high water and an electrical pole was damaged not far from the 4 mile marker alos near Buena Vista.

In the Coalfields, Martin County EMS folks said it best. The storm came, dumped and moved on with little fanfare!

I will keep you posted as is Chris at his blog.
