Friday Night Add On
I have added the story I ran on Friday's 5:30 Edition of our Alaskan journey. The digital pictures taken by WSAZ fans whom I traveled with totaled in the thousands truly. Here's a sample of the beauty and majesty we saw and the fun we had!
No doubt about it, Alaska is truly a vast and wild frontier!
Monday was my first day back from a fortnight tour of Alaska and the Yukon but I have bad news for those looking to vicariously live the trip through my prose. My latest blog is disappointingly short. You see I had intended to have a detailed survey of the trip already on line complete with a digital diary of pictures taken by the 42 WSAZ devotees with whom I made this arctic odyssey.
Turns out the bronchitis that I acquired on the return cruise knocked me out for three long bed ridden-coughing days. So it will be a few days before I publish my TRUE blog.
In the days ahead you will see all sorts of wild animals like giant moose and grizzly bears. There will be snowball fights in July, shots of the Alaska pipeline and calving glaziers. The enclosed Alaska-Canada railroad picture on the way to Skagway comes courtesy of Yvonne and Rollie Morehouse of Wood County WV. They remind me of the majestic mountain shots from the movie Von Ryan’s Express (shot on location in the Italian Alps). Trust me it gets even better!
This picture was sent to me from Yvonne Morehouse. Wild flowers in Anchorage.
This is a beautiful glacier in Alaska. What an amazing time we had on the trip.
