WVU Fans Beware
It's a crazy night for Big East basketball fans as the 'Eers host the Panthers in round one of the backyard brawl on hardwood tonight.
I am blogging from home this Monday morning with a hangover (no not that kind since I don't drink, but instead one brought on by the euphoria of the Packers win in the Super Bowl). My message to WVU fans is to be prepared for snow accumulation tonight on your trip back from the Colliseum.
Basically, melting wet snow and rain for your trip up I-79 early this evening will turn to sticking snow in Northern WV by the final horn. So lets say you get out of Morgantown by 10pm, you will be driving in a "driving" wet snowfall. That snow will then follow you all the way into Charleston (where the changeover to wet snow will come after 8PM).
At some point, a freeze up of roads is likely even in Charleston, though my gut says that happens well after midnight in the Capital City. That will set us up for an icy cold Tuesday morning with a biting wind chill and school delays/closings.
By the way, as in snow/rain predictions my Super Bowl forecast was a boom/bust affair. I had the Pack winning by 6 (perfect) but a low scoring game (hardly). Such is life in the handicapping business!
