From Grey to Blue Skies

The weekend is almost here and TC says the leaden grey skies will give way to brighter times ahead. Still early morning charity runners will have a chill to battle.

Weekend Weather on the Improve

If the mailman’s mantra is “neither rain, sleet or snow”, my battle cry is “neither heat of summer or bitter of winter” will keep me from my daily walk.

You see when it comes to staying fit, I am a zealot. Ask my closest friends and they will tell you how I have two suits from the 1980s that fit me like a glove and I still wear on the air.

Still, the last two days, so called Dirty Dozen’s, have kept me inside rather than challenging the elements. Since I hate to get wet feet, the rains of Wednesday and Thursday have done what no -10 wind chill or 100 degree scorching afternoon can do!

But there is better news ahead for outdoor warriors like construction workers and landscapers; namely, conditions will improve this weekend as thing dry out. So guys, maybe work on Saturday to make up for lost wages this week.

Friday will dawn grey and gloomy as our 2 day siege of dampness and dreariness holds tough. But a drying westerly wind (much sedated after Thursday’s strong gusts) will slowly break clouds up by afternoon and evening.

Both Saturday and Sunday mornings will dawn with fog clinging to the riverbanks and frost in colder rural meadows. With ample sunshine temperatures will make a run at 60 degrees.

That spells a chilling time for 5K Breast walkers at Central Park in Ashland and St Joe's Charity runners in Huntington.

By Saturday afternoon, kids enjoying the Halloween Extravaganza at Magic Island will enjoy bright sunshine and lots of candy. Temperatures will rise into the 50s for the ghosts and ghoblins!
