Carrie's Kids-Devon
When you've been in and out of foster care and group homes, maintaining a positive outlook on life can sometimes be challenging. Tonight's featured teen looking for a forever family makes no bones about that.

When you've been in and out of foster care and group homes, maintaining a positive outlook on life can sometimes be challenging.
Tonight's featured teen looking for a forever family makes no bones about that.

Devon was a tough nut to crack--somewhat jaded by the system. But, once we finally broke the surface, we found a pretty entertaining 15-year-old with some unique tastes on everything from food to a music style with British roots.

Here’s his conversation with Newschannel Three’s Carrie Cline:

Carrie-What about music? What kind of music do you like?
Devon-It's changed...
Carrie-You wrote down you like screamer music?
Devon-The name is self-explanatory
Carrie-alot of screamin' and yellin?
Devon-Yeah.

Carrie-What about your favorite food? What do you like to eat?
Devon-I don't really got a favorite food.
Carrie-So, you like to eat any and everything?
Devon-I wouldn't say that. I don't have favorite foods, but I have disliked foods.
Carrie-Do you like spinach or brussel sprouts?
Devon-No maam.
Carrie-Then, we should probably say that so no one makes you eat a meal full of spinach and brussel sprouts.
Devon-I usually stick to macaroni, something I can just throw in the microwave, heat up and be out.
Carrie-What about pizza?
Devon-just something you can heat up and throw in the microwave.
Carrie-Well, you know you can heat up vegetables and you have to eat your vegetables if you want to be big and strong, right?
Devon-Alot of pizza has vegetables on it, right?
Carrie-That's how you get your vegetables, huh?

Carrie-What do you want to be when you grow up?
Devon-I'd like to be a video game designer. I don't know what's better than getting paid to do something you like to do.

Carrie-What else do you need in parents? People who are pretty understanding?
Devon-Yeah, people who aren't going to give up when I go through some pretty down times.
Carrie-People who will love you unconditionally?
Devon-I'm not even asking for that. Just people who will stick with me even when I go through down times.

Devon is definitely a young man trying to protect a heart that's been broken several times. But, as you saw, he has a beautiful smile and a great sense of humor. Given that stability, consistent love and attention that all children need and crave, he's going to be quite the charmer.
