HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Cooking, running, shopping.
Teenagers are often on the go. And this teen looking for a forever home is no exception. Linda is a high school sophomore who's very active in athletics -- she's a runner, and busy in the kitchen where she's a baker. It's an excellent combination because when she's not busy cooking, she loves to eat. That's when a little exercise comes in handy.
WSAZ.com's Carrie Cline had the following conversation with Linda:
Carrie: What is your favorite food?
Linda: I love pepperoni rolls. When we have them, I eat 10 at a time.
Carrie: How do you keep a waistline like that?
Linda: I love cheesecake, too.
Carrie: What do you like to do for fun?
Linda: I usually hang out with my friends when I'm not in placement. I love to draw. Everyone says I'm really creative.
Carrie: What are the cool things about you that people should know?
Linda: I don't know if it's really cool or not, but I talk a lot. At first I'm really shy, but then I talk a lot.
Carrie: Like now. At first, you were shy and now you're pretty chatty.
Carrie: When you hang out with your friends, what kinds of things do you like to do?
Linda: Anything really. We shop. We hang out and talk most of the time. We have sleepovers and talk about boys, of course.
Carrie: What about school? Are you good in school?
Linda: The principal, he gave me my report card... I'm in 10th grade and I'm taking some 11th grade classes, and he said I'm smart enough to be in college and he asked me if I want to go to college.
It made me feel kind of smart because I really didn't think I was that smart. I want to go to college. I either want to be a lawyer or a cosmetologist.
Carrie: Why is it important for you to be adopted?
Linda: I guess I just want a normal family. I don't want to be stuck in placement. I don't think any kid deserves to be stuck in placement.
Carrie:What would your ideal family be like, what kind of people would they be?
Linda: Anyone who cares and can open up a placement in their heart.
Linda is a very sweet young lady who also likes the outdoors, swimming and really likes animals. She loves children and wouldn't mind a family that has younger brothers and sisters.
If you'd like to learn more about Linda or find out how you can adopt her, someone is waiting by the phone to take your call. Just call Mission West Virginia at 1-866-CALL-MWV.
You do not have to live in West Virginia to adopt Linda. When you call that number, you'll learn what you need to know to make her a part of your family.
