NITRO, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- It took firefighters from four departments to put out a house fire in Putnam County.

It happened at 224 Cross Lanes Drive near Nitro around 8:30am Monday morning.

Fire departments from Nitro, St. Albans, Poca, and Bancroft were there.

No one was home at the time.

It appears the fire started in the basement, but firefighters aren't sure what caused it.
