CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- It was the yard sale to end all yard sales in Charleston Saturday. That's because everything was free!

Dozens of people walked away with free clothing, toys, household goods, and holiday décor.

Charleston Lanlord Tammy Sayre decided to give back to the West Side community by holding the giveaway. In these tough economic times, she's inspired to help people who are struggling to get by. Sayre and her family once spent three months living in a homeless shelter. That experience has always stuck with her.

Many people who showed up couldn't believe that someone would just give hundreds of items away, but they were very thankful for Sayre's Generosity.

Right across from the lot where the sale was held is more property owned by Sayre. One of the newest tenants, the Restored Antioch Market.

The store offers people free clothing, food and baby items. Donations are sometimes lacking forcing volunteers to do all they can to help out.

"I've given my shoes, my bags and I've told my friends to give everything they have," said Felicita Fataki. "We really want the community to come in and have things they can look nice in."

To keep up with costs, the store does sell certain items. The highest price is $3.00.

Both Sayre and Fataki agree on one thing, goodwill and compassion is the key to putting the West Side community back on it's feet.
