SMS TEXT ALERT NOTE: we have discovered that cell phone carriers will only accept a limited number of text messages at one time and within a certain time period. This means most text alert subscribers will experience problems receiving the alerts -- if at all. Therefore, we have taken down our phone carrier test and highly recommend you use a non-cell phone e-mail address when signing up for alerts. If you choose to continue to use a cell phone carrier address (i.e. xxxxxxxxxx@txt.att.net or any of the others), you will likely receive sporadic or no alerts at all. We are currently working on a more reliable SMS text messaging solution, but we do not have a launch date yet.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

QUESTION: How do I sign up for text alerts
ANSWER: Due to issues with cell phone carriers rejecting messages to multiple users, we are not currently offering text message alerts.

QUESTION: Is this a free service?
ANSWER: Yes, this is a free service offered by WSAZ. However, you may be charged a fee for each text message if you do not subscribe to a text message plan with your cell phone or mobile device carrier.

QUESTION: How do I sign up for both e-mail and text alerts?
ANSWER: Fill out the form for your e-mail address. Unfortunately, we have stopped offering text alerts due to unreliability issues with the cell phone carriers. We are planning to offer a true SMS-based service in the future.

QUESTION: I don't see my school in the list. What do I do?
ANSWER: No need to worry. That means that individual school is not in our closing system. You should sign up for the school district, instead. Please contact your school and encourage them to contact us to add the school to our closing system.

QUESTION: How do I UNSUBSCRIBE from the alerts?
ANSWER: In the form above, click the link for "Unsubscribe/Change Existing Settings." Once you enter your e-mail address, you'll receive a confirmation e-mail with a code that will allow you to unsubscribe from our service.

QUESTION: How do I know I'm signed up?
ANSWER: You will receive an activation e-mail when you first sign up to confirm that your e-mail address is valid. If you do not receive the e-mail, check your spam folder or junk mail folder. You must enter the code contained in that e-mail into the form in order to activate your alert.

QUESTION: I signed up, but I did not receive the confirmation e-mail, nor am I getting e-mail alerts. What's wrong?
ANSWER: The confirmation e-mail and all following e-mails are likely being caught in your spam filter. Check your spam folder and/or junk mail folder to see if the e-mail is there. You may need to contact your system administrator to allow messages from our system: "closings@wsaz.com"

QUESTION: There are several schools listed in my school district, plus the entire district. For which should I sign up?
ANSWER: You should sign up for all that you want to get alerts. For instance, if you are only signed up for the school district and only the high school is closed one day, you will not get an alert. You will also not get an alert if you sign up for only a high school and the entire district is closed.

QUESTION: I have a SPAM filter on my e-mail. What address should I add to my "safe senders" list?
ANSWER: closings@wsaz.com

QUESTION: I have a question that's not covered on this page. What do I do?
ANSWER: You may send any questions, problems, or feedback to closings@wsaz.com.
