Weekend Anchor/Reporter

WSAZ-TV is looking for a full-time weekend anchor/reporter to work for the dominant number one station in the market. We are seeking a dynamic candidate that is passionate about the art of storytelling, able to connect with people where they are and humanize the story using memorable moments and characters to bring the story to life.

The candidate should be assertive, willing to ask the tough questions, possess good news judgment, a strong writer, solid on the anchor desk and a good team leader. The candidate should have strong anchor skills, leadership qualities, solid news judgment and the ability to multi-task

Job Qualifications
Present information in a fair, unbiased manner, insuring the information is accurate and of interest to viewers.
Develop story ideas to present in morning/afternoon news meeting.
Eager to anchor, report, go live, field anchor, onset debrief and fill-in on weekday newscasts as needed.
Must have the ability to edit stories, post them to the web and read from a computer monitor.
Must be willing to work in either of our studios located in Charleston and Huntington if needed.
Willing to work with our news consultant/talent coach to develop on-air look and presence.
Work contacts and establish self in beat counties and community.
Always present a professional image as a representative of WSAZ-TV.
Ability to handle moderate stress on a regular basis, meet daily and long range deadlines, work well with others in a team atmosphere and contribute meaningful content daily.
Candidate should have a degree in Journalism or related field.
2-3 years of experience is preferred.
