SPENCER, W.Va. (RCHS) -- Jeff Fetty is a blacksmith artist in Roane County.
Roane County High School senior Megan Gainer is working with him through an apprenticeship sponsored in part by the Tamarack Foundation. Although Gainer has no complete works to call her own yet, she did lend a hand in the "planting" of several of Fetty's giant flower art pieces in Spencer a few months ago.
The two have turned the partnership into a friendship and Gainer says Fetty listens to her ideas and values her opinion despite her age. Fetty notes her enthusiasm for the craft.
