HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The latest round of "Wii mania” has hit store shelves this week.
But this time it's not all fun and games. Nintendo has come out with “Wii Fit,” an interactive exercise program to help people get in shape.
Amy Handshaw is a high intensity training specialist that’s putting Dianna Curry through the paces of a tailor made exercise program.
“As far as weight loss is concerned, it's about energy in vs. energy out, and making sure you are always expending more calories than you are taking in,” Handshaw said.
“I just like feeling good, and I like being active," Curry said.
Nintendo is hoping to bring some of the excitement of its Wii gaming system and transform that energy into a workout program for people to get in shape.
You enter in your height and age and the machine does the rest.
With a starting point in place, it tailor makes an exercise program to help you reach your goals.
“I think it's doing very well to hit all realms of fitness,” Handshaw said.
It includes programs of balance, strength training and aerobic endurance.
