BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) --A Beckley church has given drivers a 25-cent-per-gallon discount at the gas pump.

Members of Freedom Baptist Church even pumped the gas for customers and cleaned windshields for two hours Saturday during a steady rain at the 2 Johns Short Stop.

The church paid the difference in the discounted price. It ran a similar promotion in October. Pastor David Trump says the discounts are simply a way of serving the community.

Customer Russ Webb says the discount from $4.09 per gallon to $3.84 will allow him to buy another loaf of bread.

Now if only God could save us from the high prices. Wonder how much that costed the church?

I bet Jesus would ride a bike and protest these high gas prices!
