The devastating floods in the Midwest may lead to more long term fallout at the grocery store.
Flooding has saturated an estimated two million acres of corn and soybean fields in several states. Higher costs of feed and fuel prices are driving livestock owners out of business. Others are slaughtering more animals to save money.
As that happens, prices on things like beef, pork, poultry, eggs, cheese and milk are likely to go up. Experts say it might even affect prices on Thanksgiving turkeys and Christmas hams.
