HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- More than 100 people who work at Sitel in Huntington are losing their jobs.

Andrew Kokes, a corporate spokesperson for the telemarketer, tells WSAZ.com the closing takes effect December 31.

The approximately 112 hourly and salaried workers were given a 60-day notice to the closing Thursday. Kokes says the employees were not offered a severance package, but the company is working with other area businesses and government agencies to assist the workers in finding new employment.

Kokes says the closing is due to a change in business needs.

Sitel is located in the 11-hundred block of 3rd Avenue in Huntington.

“We have been an active part of the Huntington business community for a number of years so the decision to close our site here does not come easy,” said Christopher Browning, site director at Sitel’s Huntington facility.

The closing does not affect the ClientLogic office in Huntington.

I don't think he does, unless he's gotten one in the last 2 years.

Chris had the people skills of a frustrated spinster. I was there for 9 years and Chris was my PS at one time. I should have fired him years ago when his grandmother died (for the third time).
