MAYSVILLE, Ky. (AP) - "Clooney Fever" is at fever pitch Monday
as a tiny northern Kentucky town rolled out the red carpet for
movie star George Clooney.
The Oscar winner is in Maysville for a special screening of his
new movie "Leatherheads."
Clooney visited with people in the crowd for a while once he
arrived, signing autographs, posing for photographs and seeing
former classmates in the crowd.
It marks a homecoming of sorts for Clooney, who grew up in
nearby Augusta.
Karen Rayburn Edwards was among the first star-struck fans to
line up outside the Washington Opera House, where the special
screening will be shown.
Edwards was wrapped in a blanket about seven hours before the
scheduled premiere, but she says it was worth the long wait.
