HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- In a trial challenging the makers of the "We are Marshall' movie, Warner Bros. is turning up as a winner.

Deborah Novak and John Witek, who produced the documentary "Ashes to Glory," had an attempted suit for breach of contract and copyright infringement. They claimed the movie, released in December 2006, dramatized events depicted in their documentary -- with identical tone, sequencing, story emphasis, characters, theme and archival clips.

On Monday, a federal judge ruled in favor of Warner Bros., saying the two films are only similar because they both deal with the events surrounding the 1970 Marshall University plane crash.

Good!!! The lawsuit should have never happened in the first place. They're just jealous because We Are Marshall got more recognition. They are both ignorant and should feel embarrassed. Something good happened that was centered around the school and they tried to turn it into a negative. Shame on them.

Thank goodness...frivolous lawsuits like this are costing taxpayers just like the bad economy and high energy prices!
