HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Here's a quiz for you: what do Steely Dan, Dave Matthews and Herbie Hancock have in common with Marshall University’s Jazz Ensemble? They’ll all be performing at the 43rd Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

Marshall's 19 piece ensemble was juried into the festival and will perform July 7th and 8th.

Jazz Studies Professor Ed Bingham leads the ensemble and is just as excited as his students.

"We made a recording a year ago with the help of Jeff Bosley, submitted it and was accepted to Montreux, and then the work began," said Bingham.

After performing at Montreux, Marshall's Jazz Ensemble will also perform in Nice, France at the oldest running jazz fest in Europe.
