IRONTON, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Swine flu shot clinics are popping up all over the place now that the vaccine is readily available.
In many cases, the last clinics for high risk groups are going on this week to make way for shot for the general public. Now, clinics across the region are hoping people don't have short-term memory loss and won't forget to be vaccinated now that the hysteria's all but over.
The Lawrence County Health Department has the swine flu vaccine, and now it's waiting for the people. Its health care professionals believe they'll have enough to start vaccinating the general public if the State Health Department gives its approval this time next week.
Furthermore, the Lawrence County Health Department has made visits to every district now in Lawrence County. What has been surprising to them has been a large number of parents saying thanks but no thanks for the swine flu vaccine.
Lawrence County's holding swine flu vaccine clinics throughout much of the week. You’re asked to call to register if you're interested.
The Ohio Health Department could approve the vaccine for the general public as early as Dec. 14.
