HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- With that great taste of spring this past weekend, many of us were out walking and biking -- getting fresh air, as well as that exercise.

There will be plenty of exercise coming up for eight selected WSAZ viewers as we begin Season Three of Healthy Tri-State's Biggest Loser.

The show's host, NewsChannel 3's Randy Yohe, went out Monday to surprise two of our new team members with the news that they had made the cut.

Reggie Lyles tells Randy, "Dr. Savory told me if I lost 100 pounds, I could get off insulin. I'm a diabetic, and my wife told me to get on Biggest Losers.”

Lyles, a Huntington youth minister and former college football player, says he needed to lose 100 pounds for basic health reasons -- to prolong his life. And, he said he was ready to kick it into high gear

Reggie was quite surprised and excited when told, “You’re in!”

“I'm ready to get motivated, to meet new people and change my life,” he says.

Eugenia Damron, on the other hand, said to Randy, “I need to get on the program that's underway at my church and here at Kellogg (Elementary School in Huntington). We have a tiger fitness program for the kids.”

Eugenia, who is Kellogg's principal, says she needs the motivation from a dedicated group to get into the healthy lifestyle patterns they're working on at her church, as well as at her own school.

When Eugenia found out she was in, she was thrilled but not really surprised. She said, "I kind of knew" and thought, “Why would they come here with a camera?”

So, we didn't totally surprise Eugenia.

But Randy says, “Believe me, Mrs. Damron, plenty of surprises are yet to come."

Here are the other 6 contestants: Teresa Adkins, Larry Curry, Don Gates, Diane Larsen, Michelle Marcum, and Amanda Taylor. All will be team members in our Healthy Tri-State's Biggest Loser.

Season Three premieres at noon Saturday, March 12, on WSAZ NewsChannel 3. It also will be shown at 6:30 p.m. that same day on myZ.
