UPDATE 11/5/13 @ 9 p.m.
PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A $1 million Powerball ticket was sold in eastern Kentucky last month. The winner is not the only one who is a little richer.
The Kentucky Lottery awarded The Smart Stop in Paintsville a $10,000 bonus check Tuesday for selling the winning ticket.
The person who won the million dollars is wishing to remain anonymous. They matched five white balls to win the prize in the Oct. 27 drawing.
Store managers say this is not the first time this has happened. "We have had a $10,000 winner, a $500,000 winner and just a couple weeks ago we had a $1 million winner," said Smart Stop assistant manager, Rachel Blair.
"This is a lucky place," said one previous winner, Concheata Wheeler. Wheeler's lucky numbers earned her a hefty check too.
Another big winner, William Rigsby, cashed in his lucky numbers for a six-figure prize. He says he has won more than 100 times.
Store managers say all of their previous winners, including the $1 million winner continue to play the lottery.
Kentucky Lottery says that the ticket for Saturday night's drawing matched the five white balls, but not the Powerball.
The ticket was sold at the Paintsville Smart Shop located at 1074 3rd Street.
The winning ticket had the following numbers: 4 6 34 49 56
“We’re looking forward to meeting our newest millionaire,” said Polston. “The winner should sign their name on the back of the ticket immediately, and then bring it to our Louisville headquarters when they’re ready to claim their prize. We’ll have the four-foot-long check waiting for them."
The winner has 180 days from Saturday's drawing to claim their prize.
