JACKSON, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A trial has been postponed for a man charged with the death of a 10-year-old girl in a traffic accident.
Christopher Haines is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault.
Angel McGinnis, 10, of Lawrence County, Ohio, died in the crash that happened along State Route 93 in December 2010.
Haines' trial was set to begin Monday in Jackson County Common Pleas Court, but it has been continued according to court officials. No new trial date has been set at this time.

In January, Haines, 29, was indicted on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault.
Back in June, Haines was expected to plead guilty to the vehicular homicide charge, but the McGinnis’s s family rejected the deal. No specifics were released as to why the deal was rejected. The family declined to comment.
Court officials tell WSAZ.com the trial was delayed after the Jackson County Prosecutor turned the case over to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. The AG’s office then asked for a continuance.
A pre-trial/status conference is now set for August 15. A new trial date has not been set at this time.

A Jackson County, Ohio Grand Jury indicted Christopher Haines, 29, on one count of aggravated vehicular homicide and three counts of aggravated vehicular assault.
The indictment was handed down on January 12. Haines was arraigned on the charges Wednesday. Court officials say his bond was set at $100,000-10% Cash. His next court appearance has not been determined

The accident happened on State Route 93 near milepost 10 at 10 Saturday morning.
Marsha McGinnis, 28, of Ironton, Angel McGinnis, 10, and Brice McGinnis, 5, were stopped behind another car on 93. According to Highway Patrol, another car rear-ended them -- forcing their car into one ahead of them.
The McGinnis' car then went into the other lane, where it was struck by oncoming traffic.
Marsha, Angel and Brice McGinnis were flown to Cabell-Huntington Hospital. 10-year-old Angel McGinnis was later pronounced dead.
The driver that plowed into the McGinnis' car, Christopher Haines, 29, was determined to be under the influence of drugs by the Highway Patrol. He was charged with Aggravated Vehicular Homicide and incarcerated in the Jackson County Correctional Facility.
The jail would not release his picture, because of an "ongoing investigation."
All passengers in other cars involved only suffered minor injuries.
