UPDATE 8/16/10 @ 7:22 a.m.
CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- West Virginia American Water has lifted a precautionary boil water advisory for customers along Route 2 in the Lesage area of Cabell County.

ORIGINAL STORY 8/14/10 @11:54 p.m.
CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- West Virginia American Water has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for customers along Route 2 in the Lesage area of Cabell County.

The advisory was prompted because of an electrical outage caused by a traffic accident which affected the booster pump that serves the tank for that area.

Once service is restored affected customers should boil their water before consumption until further notice. Customers are asked to bring water used for drinking, cooking, bathing and brushing teeth to a full boil for a minimum of one minute, then cool before use.

Did not know about the advisory until this morning (Monday). Unless we spend our time watching news programs, there is no way to get info from WV American Water.

I just called the water company: Blue Sulphur Rd in Ona is included in the boil water advisory. West Virgnia American Water is putting people's health at risk by not properly communicating this information DIRECTLY to its customers.
